50% off Audible Membership When Cancelling Existing Subscription

80

Discovered that the Audible membership has an automatic customer retention offer following sign up and moving to cancel.

I was a paying member for two months, found i wasn't using it often, and decided to cancel. Without prompt, i was offered a three month discount on membership to stay.

  • I might have missed this when I went to cancel my membership just then.

  • Thanks OP, great to hear. I’ll give it a go.

Added bonus: If you have a subscription (and plenty of free space on your Android device (not sure about Apple)), you can buy a book, download it to said device, return book no questions asked, buy new book, download, return…. Rinse.. Repeat..

I cancelled my subscription and just buy credits from here: https://exploreaudiobooks.com/, eg 3 credits for $21 USD. Note this is only if you have a US/UK Audible account. If you log in using audible.com then you can apply the credits bought from that site and use them to buy books. If you were previously using an AU account you will need to sign out on your device and change the location/region when signing in again to access the books in your US library (you would then have an AU and US library).

    • Really nice. Any idea if this violates Audible terms?

I've been signing up whenever there is a deal for existing users on here and cancelling when it expires for a fair while now and it seems there are a few deals that it randomly chooses between.

  • If you then cancel after your discount period they sometimes offer you another book credit free. After several months of being canceled you can sometimes get emailed an offer of 80% off for 3 months.
