Snob factor
Seems like it.
If it matters, these have a lifetime warranty. I've had two break over the years and they were both fixed for free.
In saying that though, you could almost buy 13 Kmart $30 heaters for the price of this, so of course I'd expect they have a lifetime warranty. How long would 13 Kmart heaters last me - probably a lifetime!!
- Lifetime warranty
- Silent heating (we had a cheaper brand that would tick loudly when the thermostat turned on/off and the metal surface heated up/cooled down)
- Super accurate thermostat
- Programmable for 7 days
There may be others out there that tick the above boxes, but I couldn't find anything available locally for the price.
Note : lifetime warranty is great, I bought from TGG and have replaced it without issues (thermostat was off)
BUT you have to return it to the store you bought it from.
So buying online might end up being a pain in the ass if you need to make use of that warranty
Asthma Friendly
That clearly depends on the room and the air being fed into it and has no bearing on the heater (unless it had a filter installed, which it doesn't).
Highly Efficient, Lower Heating Bills
2400W is 2400W.
Safety Thermal Cut Out
As is legally required.
Easy Installation

These are more efficient that a 2400w Kmart cheap fan heater.
They all will consume the same amount of energy and produce the same amount of heat, whether it's fan, oil, panel etc.
The only way to achieve efficiency with electric heating is to use reverse cycle air con - ie split system.
Some people are under the false impression that buying an expensive resistive element heater will give them lower power bills, but this is not true.
I have two of these and they are excellent. They start producing heat very quickly and are totally silent. Haven't tried a Kmart special but I don't think the Kmart one would be as well built.
I have a 2400W and 2000W Noirot heater, purchased from ebayer seconds_online. Despite their name, I believe this seconds_online is the ebay store for the Noirot distributor in Australia. They sell new units (lifetime warranty) and refurbished units (1 year warranty). I paid $340 delivered for non-timer 2400W version, brand new. I read so many bad reviews about the timer failing on these that I decided to buy non-timer units and add TPlink smart switches to do all the timing functions, monitor the energy usage, and allow me to turn them on and off using my phone or google home. I would recommend this solution as it works very well.
About the actual heating - there is absolutely no efficiency gain for these expensive heaters over any other electrical resistive heater ($20 blow heater) and in fact the natural convection will not be as effective as a blow heater at getting warm air around the room. I use a pair of reverse cycle air-cons for bulk heating of the house during the day. At night I can't stand the blowing noise and feel of air-con or blow heaters so I switch to these for a couple of hours while I relax on the couch. I would not want to run these or any other resistive heating element all day unless I was trying to burn money ($0.85 per hour adds up!) Having said all of this - I really do like the the silence of these units and I would recommend them for a very comfortable unobtrusive heater, but I would hate to rely on them for bulk heating for extended periods.
I hope this helps someone…Noirot Heaters are the Toyota Landcruser of electric heaters, back in Victoria had one in every bedroom, set the timers for 30mins before bed, temperature set… perfect and reliable.
Kmart heaters… like the Great Wall of electric heaters, does the same job, looks ok… build quality ain't going to be great at the price point.
You do you - but I'd rather buy better quality once, then budget a dozen times.
What about this one:
https://www.harveynorman.com.au/goldair-gpph630-2000w-invert…It has an inverter and has wifi
What the hell is so special about this compared to the $30 2400W convection heater with timer that I bought at Kmart?
