Chemist Warehouse E-Gift Card 10% off (In-Store Redemption Only) @ Entertainment Book

170

Saw Entertainment book recently introduced 10% off to Chemist warehouse egiftcard in their 2018/19 version. I thought it might worthy a post.

Apparently it is in store only at this stage so stacking with cash rewards is not possible. Also you need to print the thing rather than let them scan the phone screen.

But nevertheless still a good way to get extra discount!

The vouchers in the book are better value.

    $10 off a $50 purchase…

    • +1

Well there are only two of them isn’t it :)
You can buy 500 worth of egiftcard per membership.

      • +2

There were actually 3 vouchers in previous year. Spend $150 for $30 savings.

Now spend $500 for $50 savings. My household spends this easily in a year.

      • Per year? That's not enough :(

    • They have only the gift card option in the digital membership.

      • +2

Same with physical Melbourne book - they moved from the 3x "$10 off" coupons to egift cards for this 2018/19 year.

    • They've discontinued the spend $50 save $10 this year.
There's supposed to be a $500 egift purchase limit per entertainment membership on chemist warehouse egift vouchers

    • That offer has expired and is replaced with the 10% off gift card.

      • +1

        Ughhh!!!

  • Can you use the gift card online?

    • Don't think so

    • Definitely not.
Even when redeeming in store, it needs to be printed (no need to surrender printout).
I've redeemed once and the reason why it needs to be printed is because their scanners are too old to handle phone screens.

      Note partial redemptions are ok.

      • Partial redemptions OK? and can use to pay for prescriptions? that's great! gonna try my voucher in-store shortly… thanks

        • Unable to use on prescriptions; part of their terms and conditions.

        • Hi, Yes this can be used for prescriptions. I have used it at two differnt chemist warehouses for prescription meds.

  • Don't buy them as I can't even use them instore. It wont scan my printed gift card. I have laser printer that printed in 600DPI it appears that they required even higher quality(High Definition) Whether even that means.

    • I have just brought a couple, will try my local store.

      • I have been using it since last week and had no issue.

    • could they not enter the number manually?

    • Have used them in store where the number was entered manually.

    • I used one today and it was fine, the lady had to scan it a few times before it read it

  • They worked fine for me a few days ago. I did have an issue with it originally but the reason why was because the cashier wasn't following the correct procedure.

I just used a 10 year old shitty laser printer, their barcode reader just needs to read a barcode.

  • have been using from the phone…it works too…but with some difficulty

  • +1

I have used few times already, need to print & redeem in store, bear in mind that only 2 e-giftcard in one transaction.

  • can i spend it on prescriptions?

    • +3

Yes, works like regular gift card.

      • Unable to use on prescriptions; part of their terms and conditions. I tried in store.

  • Is amex a valid payment option?

    • +1

      Nope

  • The best way to get the code scanned is to turn up the brightness settings on ur phone ;)

It says up to 2 days:

Please note: Due to the high value of this offer, and for your protection, please allow up to 2 business days for credit card verification and delivery of your Chemist Warehouse Cards.

    • I received mine instantly after purchase.

    • I received mine right away (less than 20 secs)

  • Can I use my chemist warehouse egift card in other city/state?

  • Does anyone know how to check the balance on this e gift card?

    • You have to go in-store and get them scanned.
The world we live in now, you think their tech is more advanced.

    • Balance is printed on the receipt from your transaction. I usually ask them to write down the balance from the receipt on my printed voucher.

  • Are they always run out of stock?

    • It is back in stock now.

  • Was there a credit card processing fee of $1.12 before per $100?

I purchased a while back and don't remember being charged but purchased another $100 then and got charged.

    Bit annoyed!

    • +1

Agreed. There's a 1.25% processing fee now for Debit and Credit cards. A little excessive for Debit in my opinion. At least have this change for next year, not half way through a membership.

      • Agreed, and there is no why to stop that fee is there?

  • Didn't have the surcharge before and now it has started charging. Have to print it out as well. Not really a good deal now.

    • You don't have to print it out.

You can put the barcode number into Google pay app and it will scan into their machines.

They just have heaps of issues scanning it in normally off your phones.

  • This hasn't been in stock ANY time i've tried over the past few months

    • That's what I have been experiencing. I thought it was just me maybe looking at the wrong times.

Fairly poor. Shouldn't they be available nearly all the time???
We are just looking to get the best value out of our Entertainment Books.

      • It had worked previously for me but not for ages

        • +1

Back in stock. I sent them an email so they went back up at 2pm today.

Not sure if my email helped but it may persuade them to add more next time if you are keen on getting some.

  • +1

    None in stock again.

  • Entertainment Publications has informed me these will not be coming back into stock nor will they be featured in the 19/20 membership.

    • Thanks for the update, though I do hope you're wrong .

I feel like they're giving me less and less reasons to buy the book every year.

      • -1

        Well that sucks!

        Time to stock up perhaps?
