You should note it is a convection microwave in the title.

    • Thanks for the note! I've been looking for a convection miscrowave for a while

  • Great price, cheapest on shopbot is $598. Having had a convection microwave for a few years (just a cheapie from BigW), I can honestly say I could never go back to a standard micro! They are so flexible & useful you'll wonder how you ever did without one! :)

I'm thinking about an upgrade…gonna look for reviews on these, I only know Electrolux vacuum cleaners! ;)

I've used the built-in version of this convection microwave (EMC2867BI, which has the same specs as the EMS3067X) in my Melbourne apartment for two years and there's no way I could go back to a standard microwave, either. Very flexible, and the combination cooking modes are a real time-saver for certain dishes. Being able to defrost by weight or time is also very handy. It gets more use than the full-sized oven (which is only used if I've got a big roast, or if I'm cooking for guests)!

The 900W microwave has been fine, never felt the need for something with higher wattage (most brand name convection microwaves sold in Australia have 900W microwaves, from what I can see — only exception being a 1000W Panasonic). Build quality is above average, but I've had to get it repaired (under warranty) when one of the oven heating elements burnt out. Repairman also replaced the control board because he said it had newer firmware. Other than that, it has been pretty reliable. Recommended. :)

  • Bear in mind that this microwave is 900W and you may prefer something with a higher wattage, e.g. 1200W.

AppliancesOnline.com.au is doing this one for $601 delivered (to Sydney anyway) so it's a good deal if you're after a convection microwave.

  • Very tempting.. the only letdown is its only 900W :/

  • Electrolux are made by Westinghouse (was told this years ago in regards to fridges)

Electrolux own the Kelvinator and Westinghouse brands in Australia; almost all Kelvinator, Westinghouse and Electrolux fridges sold in Australia are made in the Electrolux factory (former Email Limited factory) in Orange, NSW.

Other Electrolux appliances are a different matter though; most aren't exclusive to Australia and aren't made here. I have the built-in version of this convection microwave and it's "Made in Europe".

    • They can be used as a 'normal' oven or grill……

most people combine the features… ie microwave meat to cook it but use convection to 'brown' it at the same time

  • Seems to be back at $699. Any ideas on how to still get the lower price? It's exactly the model I'm after…
