[PS4] Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA $24 @ JB Hi-Fi

540

Just saw this while browsing through the games in store and thought it was a great price for the game. Paid $48 from EB for my copy of the game about 3 months ago. Oh bother…

Edit: word is this might be part of the 2 for $40 deal. If it is, then it makes it much sweeter.

    Damn that's a good price

    • exactly what I thought when I saw it! (and also damn I got it for $48 3 months ago)

I bought the Vita version for $28 a few months ago not expecting the (superior) PS4 version going down in price any time soon considering how niche it is… let alone such a good price.

  • How much like the original Ys does this play like. Would love to buy.

Adol Christin has come along way and glad the series is still going (even though I never have enough time for all my back log currently)

    • If you are expecting the 'bump' mechanics…I don't think we'll see that again for good reason.

Does this come with Japanese dub & subtitles?

    • +1

From looking at the box it appears to be Japanese/English audio and English/French text.

Damn, this is cheap OP. Tempted to buy it now even though I just bought a bunch of games from Amazon yesterday

    Is the game fun?

I've got this on Vita - yet to start it. Worth having on both consoles - ie. anyone know if there's a cross save? (I don't have PS Plus)

Edit, the Devs confirmed this elsewhere - no cross save between PS4 and Vita as the content is different between the platforms. Therefore, think I'll stick with the Vita version for on-the-go Ys.

  • Thanks, just picked up from JB. Got the day 1 edition too.

  • Thanks OP, I miss playing decent JRPG, and the review on this one looks good

  • Was part of the 2 for $40 too if that's still active

  • Got this and Samus Returns 3DS for $40

  • Picked it Up the Other Day

Good Price considering what it costs everywhere else

and Yes it is a Part of the Two for $40 - couldn't Find anything Else i wanted

    • Is the 2 for $40 instores only?
When I added Ys and another 2 for $40 game (Samus Returns), doesn't show up as the deal and gave me a subtotal of $48.

Seems like they removed Y's from the 2 for $40 promo today.

I picked it up in-store last night with Samus.

        • +1

I had already purchased Samus for delivery the day prior but checked yesterday online to see if I could have picked up that PLUS Ys, and it wasn't doing 2 for $40 online with Ys when I added to cart.

        • @fookos:

Weird. I checked at around 4pm AEST last night and Y's was definitely part of the 2 for $40 listings.

I'm happy to post the receipt tonight if anyone wants it.

@cyrax83: That's weird! I checked online closer to 6pm and when adding it and another item from the sale to the card it didn't discount. Maybe it was rectified prior to that (and didn't have the green digital '2 for $40' sticker on the screen against the listing). Thanks anyway. I'm picking up my copy (ended up failing to resist so adding the PS4 version to my Vita physical version) after work today. With the 5% wicked Wednesday discount it was $22.80, so a little closer to $20!

  • If you like ACT game you will like this game. Especially when you get it by 24.

  • Really want this on switch - that way I'll actually play it

    • Itll probably be gimped like the Vita version

  • God Eater 2 is also a great buy at $24 since you get God Eater Resurrection with it as well!

Just got this with Lego Batman 3 2 for $40 deal. Thanks Hunnypooh.

  • Is this game still under 2 for $40?

    • Doesn't look like it on the website but people are still commenting that they are getting it for 2 for $40. Maybe in-store?

I think instore only. Just picked up my online order - shrink wrapped copy! That's like the holy grail of game purchase outcomes at JB! Rare!

  • Only just picked up my click and collect order and while it wasn't sealed it was the day one edition with the art book and soundtrack. Pretty cool.
