Red is the colour generally worn by instructors at many ski fields…. I did that once… black pants and red jacket… I had a few people come up to me to ask me questions, and 2 kids started following me down a slope once… haha. That was the last year I wore red and black to the snow. That red jacket now lives in the cupboard to loan out to friends!
Generic brands should not brand their clothes. Many people won't buy this because it has "dare2b" all over it - just like if ALDI had their logo printed on the back of their jackets
Dare2b is a generic brand? https://www.dare2b.com
I'm not sure what you mean by that. I've always thought they were a brand of fairly specialised, performance clothing.
I would rather ski or cycle in their equipment than Adidas or Nike. But if people are happy to make poor decisions based on marketing gimmicks and brand snobbery, then more fool them.Yes Dare2b is a generic brand as it is clearly at the very low budget end.
You do not have to be a brand snob and wear the latest arc'teryx gear to turn your nose up, but at the same time, few people want to actively advertise they are wearing the bottom end of the barrel. I wear clothes from BigW because they are cheap and comfy but i probably wouldn't if they all had BigW stamped on the side
FWIW Nike make some really decent snow gear especially snowboard boots
Well, there's also http://www.asos.com/au/killtec/killtec-hannes-ski-jacket/prd… for $47.50 (so shipping is free). More sizes available, and also grey (not red) so people won't mistake you for a ski instructor (may or may not be a bad thing) plus it will make it a lot harder to find your body if you get lost in a snow drift (also may or may not be a good thing….. probably not a good thing I guess).
Not Dare2b with Ared V02 material though…. FYI Here's a training video on the Ared V02 fabric (think Gore-tex equivalent) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6bTtPR7t6M
+1 Thanks, bought that Killtec Hannes Ski Jacket. Price shipped too good to refuse!

My jacket and beanie (decided not to get the lip ring) arrived today. Got the dare2b red jacket, so will practise my fake Swiss accent ("Bend vith zee knees!") should I wear it on the slopes this season. Anyhow, perfect fit for me, seems to be really well made and a lot of nice touches (like the snowskirt with gripper tape, and a glasses pocket with a lens cloth included). Personally I prefer the hood (if there is one) on ski jackets to fold up into a pocket so it's not flapping around catching air/snow when wearing a helmet but other than that I really like it. Much better than the Aldi jackets, but also cheaper!
I got a 10% off voucher sent to me after my first order, so I just used it to get a couple of cardies for the winter here in Melbourne. http://www.asos.com/au/dare-2b/dare2b-long-sleeve-fleece/prd… and http://www.asos.com/au/clean-cut-copenhagen/clean-cut-copenh…
