Looking for an energy/electricity meter plug that monitors an appliance's electricity usage over a period of at least a week that can determine the duration and time of day it was turned on and how much electricity it used. Seems like most electricity meters just spit out a total of kilowatt usage of the day/week. I want to figure the exact cost of running an appliance with peak/off-peak/shoulder rates, and a total kilowatt usage number doesn't allow me to do that. Hence, the meter needs to be able to give a history of the kilowatt usage during the time-frame it was turned on. Is there one that's able to produce a chart that shows the kilowatt usage against time of day?

Ha, I managed to ignore he was after an appliance meter, not a whole house one.
Anyway, those Jaycar ones are rubbish. This type is better: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/282534372774
pretty sure that version USED to be sold at jaycar in the past, they use to sell two. But only carrying that one now.
But I agree, get the ebay one, its better!
Install a smart meter and let the power company do it. They take half hour readings.
You can get these: http://enviroshop.com.au/shop/efergy-e2-wireless-energy-moniā¦ that store hourly readings, you need to download the data off them every so often.
I haven't seen one more fine-grained than an hour except for DIY or commercial ($$$) stuff. For DIY you just buy the current sensor and then use a microcontroller like Arduino etc to log it and transmit to your PC.
