That what I was trying to figure out. There's already a 6 millionth comment from 31/05/18. In fact yours is 6,008,629.
Maybe the counter at the bottom doesn't included deleted comments, but the link goes to the actual comment ID #6M

The other million to get to the 6million mark were all about traffic infringements and how to get out of paying them.
The others were about investments with high yield, eneloops, Gerry Harvey and price jacking.

As stated previously, the maximum "ID" of comments is a bit bigger than the number of comments in the database because some comments were deleted — either deliberately or was part of testing. The 6,000,000th comment was actually a comment in TWAM made by a rep asking the moderators why their deal was unpublished. The 6,000,0001st comment was however, about preventing write off from car insurance claim.
Please also note that these also include unpublished comments. Comments were removed for various reasons — requested by the commenters themselves, personal attacks, trolling, or simply replying to a parent comment that got unpublished later on. We have not yet reached 6,000,000 published comments yet.

No. To produce the number it requires iterating through all 6b+ rows in the database to check the flag. Not something we want to do regularly.
