Best eBay Mobile Seller for Grey Imports?

Hi, so I've been looking at buying a phone from eBay and since I can't find any local stock (maybe the phone wasn't launched here or maybe Aussie sellers didn't get enough stock) I've been planning on importing it. It's Xperia XZ1 Compact if it matters.

Going through the site, I noticed qd_au has 99.8% positive feedback and that too with almost 45K ratings, has anyone had any bad experiences with them? Cause being a Sony phone there is a good chance it can have some kind of a fault. There are also other sellers like here-2-buy(97.2%), ezoneshop(97.1%), BuyBuyBox(96.9%) but i don't feel so confident buying from them. Kogan has it but it's like $100 more than the others and my budget is restricted to ~$500

I could consider buying from external stores like e-global but then i won't get eBay's support.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: The search link, if anyone wants to see the other options

    sounds dodgy. avoid.

  • Do you need it?

Buy from a 'local' Australian store, like Kogan. The extra you pay offsets the risk. Buy in a month or so when you've got the extra $100.

    Do you want it?

Buy from any of the reputable eBay sellers. Pay via PayPal with your credit card for protection.

Do you neither need or want it?

Forget about it, find another phone or use your existing phone. Something better will be released in a year or two anyway.

    Still can't decide?

Leave it up to the Fate gods. Assign each store a number, including no store. Roll a dice.

    • (1) qd_au (99.8%)
    • (2) here-2-buy(97.2%)
    • (3) ezoneshop(97.1%)
    • (4) BuyBuyBox(96.9%)
    • (5) Kogan
    • (6) No purchase

You can do it OP! You're winning at life!

Haha, that's a great way to put it.

The thing with Kogan is that they're gonna do the same as qd_au (or so i've heard/read), they'll send the phone back to HK and maybe give a replacement at their own discretion as I've heard both, some people had to wait for it to be repaired while others got a replacement. The replacement probably depends on the degree of the problem.

      I guess I'll a roll a dice.

      Thanks!
