6 cell battery for EM350 netbook

Hi,

Does anybody know where to pick up a 6 cell battery for the eMachine EM350 netbook that's currently going around for $199?

I don't mind if it's generic or official genuine. As long as it's reliable and cheap.

    6 cell goes for about $30-$40 on ebay
    9 cell goes for about $50+ on ebay

    Buy from reputable battery dealer
    As Acer purchased eMachine, some acer netbooks use same battery as eMachine

    Yes, definitely the AO-532 battery is the correct one

    Thanks!! Does anyone know the average hours of battery life on the 6 cell and 9 cell?

    I'm guessing 6 cell is somewhere around 8 hours and 9 cell would be 10+? or it's actually a bit lower. Taking into account, it'll be on minimal usage.

      It's all about screen brightness and WiFi - also, the Atom uses some form of step-multiplier throttling. When you stop using it, the CPU drops off speed. Hence, battery life varies VASTLY depending on settings and your usage patterns. The manufacturers rate the battery life with 1/2 screen brightness and that's likely something you will change - so you'd never get 8 hours proper use out of a Netbook running a 6-cell.

      Our N450 netbook with screen on about 70% will do about 3-4 hours on a 6-cell when it's actually being used for web surfing, youtube etc. Ours is a thing we leave lying around the house, in Standby mode so it restarts fast. People just pick it up and log into WiFi to check weather, pop off an email etc if they want a bigger screen than an iPhone.

      For us, that's typical usage… if you were doing Word Documents, you'd get better battery life that we do because you could switch off WiFi, and the CPU wouldn't be working continuously to do the video decoding.

      We recharge every few days - since a lot of the time the netbook just sits there waiting to be used (even when switched on) we probably get 8-10 hours running time per charge, but that is not actually using it all that time. I have now set it to turn off the screen after 2 minutes of inactivity, that helped a LOT.

    Bought the one off eBay, will see how it goes. I don't exactly trust the products on dealextreme. Hopefully the eBay one is as good if not better :)

    I need a new battery. Now after 2 years the battery has died for EM350. Can anyone recommend the names of reputable online battery replacement vendors?
