I used ebay gift cards a month or two ago,
however Ive just bought some and trying to use them and its coming up as Box greyed out
with " see item description"
ive tried 2 different accounts and same thing,
is this a new thing? or site error
yeah I have worked out that once you use the card, the balance gets transferred to your account, however using this balance is a royal pain in hte butt
i was using a new gift card,
however after resetting hte PC, it seems to have worked
the using of tee excess balance is really really bad…..
edit: does any body have a recommendation on how to use it
i just checked my account, and previous gift balances are there but the latest ones are not, hopefully it just takes a while to update
Does anybody know how to get the official way on how to use these excess gift card balances?
Tip: Login to eBay US (ebay.com) and temporarily checkout something and under the coupon code section, it'll list any existing balances on any prior used gift cards including any that have been refunded. As of writing, eBay Australia unfortunately isn't as feature rich in handling gift cards as eBay US. So if you wish to use them on eBay Australia, you'll need to enter the gift card code into the coupon section like you originally did.
Yrah that's the only way I knew to do it too
However this time.. My two gift card balances are not showing up.
Also I wanted to use the credit from previous and the item didn't show up on ebay.com so couldn't use it.
Surely surely this can't be the only way to use it….. I'm sure it would contravene some Aussie laws to be able not to use your left over credit
When I enter the gift card numbers into check out it's coming out as balance zero too
Probably best to contact eBay then. I've never encountered that type of issue before.
Also in case you might've encountered the following restriction:
6 - No more than a total of $2000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per day, and no more than a total of $5000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per calendar month. Further, you may only redeem a maximum of eight Gift Cards in any single transaction (and fewer if you are redeeming Gift Cards in combination with other redemption codes, such as coupons or vouchers).

So yes. The credit has shown up. :)
But still the issue of how to use it.

Edit: but definitely once you use even a bit of your gift card the balance is transferred and when you do a balance enquiry on the actual card. The balance is zero
It might be because, if you use the eBay Gift Card once on an account, it'll be bound to be used only by that specific eBay account. Only an unused card can be used on an alternative account.
