Prepaid Visa / Mastercard Gift Card Conversion to Cash

Hi Oz Bargainers - probably one for those financially more inclined - my nephew has asked if there's a way he can convert his $50 gift card into cash - i believe you can't just withdraw the money from the atm - any thoughts besides selling at a discount to convert this to cash? it would probably be the same for a $100 or $200 gift card i am imagining

  I would just give him $50 and take the gift card to spend. That's just me though.

    just wants the cash - i'm thinking there's more than $50 he mentioned but didn't pry :D it wouldn't be lucrative enough if it was just $50 imho…

      Well how much is it ?

      If it’s a reasonable amount like $200 then I’d just give him the cash and keep the Visa card in my car to pay for fuel.
