  • Can this be bought instore?

    • why not, it's in the catalogue…

    • Page says;

      "Challenger Boat Set
      $39.99 (Save Over 55%)
Starts Tomorrow - Ends 30 January
      Was $89.99. 2-person. Buy online. #834394."

But, they might be flexible instore, unlike some other companies who will not price match their own online prices.. Assuming they have them instore that is.

      • But, they might be flexible instore

It's in their paper catalogue, not just online, so it should be the same price in store if they have stock…

    • Yeah not sure… as mentioned it is in the generic catlog, but it also has the little mouse icon and states buy online. I would give them a call (to also check stock) before heading to a store, and if no luck then get it online I guess.

    • I think so. I bought from them the one/two man version a couple of weeks ago for $10.

  • +2

flood preparations - no disrepect to victims

  • I have one across the road so i'll stick my head in tomorrow. Kmart normally has the 1 man versions for $20 I buy them for a little fun and fishing might get 5 or so trips at of it until they start to fall apart lol

  • Wonder anyone know any regulations/rules regarding using such a boat on waterway or beach? I want to buy one, just worry about I need to apply a licence to ride on it!

    • no license required on public waterways. you only need a license if it has some sort of motorised or electric propulsion system. sail boats don't need a license either (or even knowledge on how to use them). for proper sailboats though you'd likely need a license to dock in private ports.

      • so in principle,i can use it on parramatta river or darling harbour or wherever i like? is it safe?

another question, does it come with a pump?

  • Handicap honours for Sydney to Hobart locked in.

  • would've been nice before the floods. but i probably wouldn't have had the foresight to buy one. Now I'll have to wait another 30 odd years till i can use it.

    sigh.

  • A valuable addition for your flood disaster plans.

  • can u go fishing with this?

    • +3

it would be easier if you use a fishing rod instead…

    • No not really, its more of a toy then anything….

You could give it a go lol

    • Yeah more for kids to play with at the beach/pool/river than anything…

Also I imagine it is not super heavy duty so any knives or hooks etc will probably pierce the rubber, let alone submerged stick/twigs etc if you are taking it down river. Could be a wet walk home.

  • BCF have a good quality one for $49.95 on sale at the moment, probably better off spending the extra 10 bucks.

    • I went to BCF and conpared (from the details on the box) the two boats and I bought the Toys R Us one because
      1) it comes with a pump and the BCF one didn't
      2) its bigger than the BCF one.

Looks comparable quality to me with both being PVC. If it falls apart I'll let you know.

Oh and there were heaps in my local Toys R Us store

  • I got one in store. Already priced in store at this sale price too, so no negotiations required.
Looks ok size for one to float around in. Hope I don't have a wet walk home in lake or river.
