PlayStation Plus: 12 Month Membership $59.95 (25% off) PS Store (Online)

1940

Just found this deal is back again, not sure if retailers are doing it as per last time.

This is cheaper than the recent 15 months for 12 promo as that works out to ~$5.33 p/m whereas this is ~$5 p/m

Perfect timing for me, with my expiry coming next week!

Also, 3 month Sub is 25% off if anyone has a use for it

    Perfect timing.

  • New PS4 Pro owner here.
I mainly only play Xbox Live for multiplayer.
    Is this worth getting?

      Depend on your time.

Ps plus gives away games from 2 years ago each month, if you are going to play them, then it worth.

For me, I do not even have time to finish god of war, let alone games from ps plus. But, it is still fun to expect “free games” and download them as soon as they are out

    • If you're not going to be playing online then it comes down to (a) whether or not you like the free games enough and / or (b) whether the PS+ discounts in some sales on PS Store will be enough to cover the cost of the subscription. Bear in mind that the "free" games only work as long as you're subscribed - if your subscription ends, you lose access to them (although if you renew again later, you get them all back again). That's not really an issue to me because I'm not usually still playing games 6 months after I get them anyway, but you may feel differently. Games that you buy with a PS+ discount remain yours forever, they're not tied to your subscription status.

Re the free games, take a look at this list and you can see what games they've given away previously: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Instant_Game_Collection_games_(PAL_region). Probably best to just look at the PS4 ones, ignore the PS3 / Vita ones if you don't have those devices (and those games are stopping on PS+ in March next year anyway, it'll be PS4 only from then on).

Take a look at the last 12 months worth of PS4 games there and decide if you reckon they'd be worth the cost of the subscription, assuming the next 12 months includes games of a similar standard.

For the free games alone, it is worth it. $59.95 a year for $100 games a month. No brainer.

If you do not have time to play 5 hours of gaming a month, then might as well sell the systems.

  • Argh. Did the last deal. Should I jump on this as well to extend? Argh!!

    • Are you a pirate or something?

  • Perfect timing. Just got an email saying my yearly is going to auto renew soon. Cheers

    • I got an email last week saying my membership is about to expire may 26. I couldn't remember how long I had but I knew it wasn't this year so I checked. 2020.
I don't think they count on years being stacked too much?

  • I was gonna wait for a 15 month for 12 but if this is cheaper. Mine runs out in October but it doesn't really get cheaper unless you capitalize on a retailer (profanity) or does it?

    • +1

Very rarely you might get a discount on PSN cards at Coles or Woolies, happens once or twice a year I think. Then you buy this with the discounted cards.

Couldn't find a deal from last year but Coles and 7/11 ran promos in 2016

Also, with woolies use the 5% off Wish Gift Cards to buy at woolies.

      • I could only find 3 month or 12 month subscription cards at Woolies.
Do these add the paid amount of car the card to your pan wallet, or just turn on the subscription for that long?

  • Damn I have too many single player campaigns to play atm 15 plus games that still havent been opened…
Dont have Plus atm, was going wait until October for the next Battlefield

Will wait and see what this months free games are first ;)

I have too many games stacked because of ps+.

Thanks, purchased. Now expiring August 2021.

    Don't even play online…

    • I hope you're at least getting the free games every month?

      • But if you dont have time to play the free ones… that's the only issue :(

        • I almost never get the free games, I only use PS Plus for the online gaming component

      • +1

Obviously, that's the only reason I feel obliged. But tbh I don't get time to play. It's just too good value to pass on.

  • Fortunate timing, my PS+ subscription is due to expire soon. I think I subbed last time there was that crazy JB Hifi goof up.

    Cheers OP!

  • If I buy one of these with my account, can I gift it to my son?

    • if you are using the same machine, yes. the others account on the machine will automatically be able to play online.

  • JB Hi-Fi and EB games might follow suit. Good find OP!

Let’s hope so. I prefer to use the vouchers instead of putting my credit card details online.

Sweet deal, mine was set to expire tomorrow.

  • You need the subscription if you want to play online… :(

  • So this allows you to play PS4 games online right? In regards to the free games it gives you, are they given to you permanently or do you need to continue buying the subscription?

    • Yes, to your first question.

Whilst you maintain PS Plus membership you can keep the free games. If membership lapses I think the free games are unplayable.

However, if you 'buy' anything with a PS Plus discount, they are yours to keep forever. That's my understanding.

      • +1

Your understanding is correct. The free games are unplayable if your Plus membership expires. Purchased games remain yours forever regardless (unless they get pulled from the store entirely like Deadpool).

  • Will this stack with my current sub?

    • I believe so, yes. Some people have the subs stacked well beyond 2020.

  • I just got a new membership today … but I didn’t see this first 😢

  • Can I extend my sub more than 3 years?

  • can i use it for a usa account
    ?

    • No.

    • nope know from experience lol

    • for PS Plus USA the 25% off happened in March (I missed it), now it seems that this one is only valid for the UK and AU accounts, maybe some other country I didn't check them all, but definitely not the USA, if you find a deal for the US accounts let me know.

any retailers doing this deal too?

    • +1

JB Hi-Fi are still showing full price online ($79.95) and EB Games was in-store only last time and I'm currently unable to check.

      • Eb does not price match, just checked

  • +1

Purchases stack, I bought 2 years worth. Thanks.

  • Do you have to have an existing membership to purchase this deal? It says to be eligible you need to receive an email from Playstation offering the deal. I don't seem to be able to purchase this deal. Would it be best to buy a one month membership for ~$10 and then add the 12 months membership on top? Does that override the one month on-going recurring fee?

    • It does over ride the reoccurring fee, I had a 1 month sub due to OnRush beta and did the deal, works out to be about $5.45 p/m so not the best deal but I was going to get a yearly anyway as I started playing WW2 more. So I feel it is worth it, you have until 8th June. So 13 months for $71 AUD roughly

  • never reveived an email and discount not available for me

  • was going to buy this but it says "not available for purchase"

  • Seems to only be available if you are already subscribed to PS Plus.

If you are able to activate the 14 day free trial you can then purchase the discounted subscription.

  • +3

Just in the nick of time as my sub was running out on the 16th of June, thanks very much!

  • +1

I haven’t been subscribed to PS Plus for over a year but for 25% off I thought I would get back into it. I wasn’t eligible as I didn’t have a current subscription so I purchased the 1 month subscription at $10.95 then purchased this deal. All up it cost $71 and got 13 months, I’m happy with that.

  • I got an email from ebgames and they're selling the 12month cards for $55.95. I think it's instore only
