  • Good price for Weetbix. Also the DVD-R offer is a continuation of last week, in case you needed some and forgot to buy last week.

    • Is $10 for 30 considered a good price? Only I'd expect to pay about 20c a disk, and that's 33c.

      • cheaper brands are $10-$12 for 50 pcs

    • Do you know how well these Kodaks perform? Thinking about getting a spindle.

      • They're probably CMC or MCC code which means run-of-the mill, same as TDK, Mitsubishi, Imation, etc. Comes out to equivalent of $16.67 per 50 spindle, 3 or 4 bucks dearer than the cheapest you can get, but if you don't wish to make a trip to MSY, wait in a queue, or pay postage, Coles might be a convenient place to get some.

If somebody bought those, please post the media code. You can read the media code following these instructions on Windows:

        http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmediaform.php?dvdinfo=1#dvdinfo

        For Linux use dvd+rw-mediainfo

I didn't get any as I'm flush with DVDs at the moment, but I passed the price info to a non-techie friend who has been dubbing TV programs on a PVR.

        • +1

I've bought a pack. I'll give you guys an update soon.

        • OK
For the 30 pack DVD-R spindle I got the media code is:
          MBI 01RG40

          Manufacturer Name is:
          Moser Baer India Ltd.

      • Kodaks are strictly average. On second thoughts, they make poor quality discs, and are easily outdone by some of the smaller brands. If you want quality, go Verbatim.

  • "Honourable Mention" - love it.

Found more mould in their fresh food section yesterday… >:(

    • +7

Well I don't think they claim to be the 'fresh food people' like woolworths do lol

    • Really? Which food had mould on it?

      • Blackberries… That's 3 times i've found mouldy ones in the last month…

and i don't mean just one packet, there were several…

        • did you tell them?

what doesn't kill you will only do you good :)

        • It's not good that they're on the shelf; but it's expected considering the wet summer for many growers.
          Berries + Rain = Mould

        • I've seen mouldy blackberries too, but they were left on a clearance trolley marked down by 66%. Otherwise I don't think I've came across mouldy stuff at their stores before.

    • Bought a pack of 6 crumpets, looked fine on the out side, went to toast 4, and the 4th and 5th were black from mould… if I only had 2, may have missed the small green spots growing on the others. Couple days before use by date.

Also saw a sealed pack of pita bread or something sitting on the shelf all mouldy as well :(

      • I got onions which looked fine on the outside, squishy and smelly on the inside. Not only does it cost $, it is the inconvenience of having to go to the shop again.

    'Heinz Squeezy Sauce 5000ml - $1.14'

That is a good price for 5kg of sauce, but Im not sure even our family could use that much in 6 months.

    • It'd be more than 5kg I'd say.
Any boffins care to weigh in?

      • i don't know the correct ratios but it'd certainly be more than 5kg. All that packaging, all the additives and thick tomato-ness of it.

        • Yep, water is ~ 1kg per litre and sauce is definitely heavier, I'd estimate ~1.1-1.2kg per litre. :)

    • +1

It'd take more than a few shakes of the sauce bottle to finish 5000mL…

    Heinz Squeezy Sauce 5000ml - $1.14

now there's a bottle of sauce!

Edit: Outlander beat me to it!

  • you could say there's more 'Mr Heinz' in every bottle…. ;)

  • Opps, corrected to 500ml size lol!! 5000kg would be a whole lotta 'Big Red'

  • lol honourable mention lol. great one!
