Melbourne - London Full-Serv Return Flights from $901 (Royal Brunei), $1,023 (Qantas+Emirates), $962 (all-Emirates) @ Aunt Betty

MUMSDAY80

Decent competition on the Lon - Mel route, with Royal Brunei dropping their second layover in Dubai, which results in quite a sharp flight time for this pricing (from 28 October only). They operate new 787’s and are widely held as a very good full-service carrier (checked baggage and meals included, however, as pointed out here before, they’re a dry airline - no alcohol).

It looks like Qantas/ Emirates have responded (both all-Emirates, and Qantas + Emirates combos are available).

Example fares and travel period guides below. Availability looks from late October to early December (book from Oct 28 for the shorter RB flights).

These fares are available via Aunt Betty (Flight Centre company) using the current 'MUMSDAY80' voucher(expires 31 May). Add this to the final payment screen.

Small typo there. All fixed. It's a Qantas / Emirates combo flight (no SC's for Emirates flights and only half points-earn, sadly).

I believe Royal Brunei is a dry airline (no alcohol) - so almost full service carrier.

Hmm, cattle class with no drinks to stupefy you on the long haul flight as you arrive in Britain at the fag end of autumn and the approaching winter. But if you need to go to Blighty in the chilly end of their year it might not be a bad deal I guess.
