Hi ozbargainers,
After finishing my plan with Lebara, some how my number was ported out of Lebara and to Vodafone. Anyone else have this issue or has someone hacked my account?
I contacted Lebara and they said it is someone else and not them.

To ask OzB first, no doubt. ;)
Check your bank accounts, one of the new scams is people port out your number to a new provider, then use your phone number (as verifcation) to reset banking paypal etc passwords so they can take your money.
A telco error or scammers?
In Australia, mobile number portability scam is a major issue. In India, if I want to port my number, I would have to request a code from my current provider via SMS and give this code to another one. They validate this at the back end and then port after 3 days giving sufficient warning. There should be a law enforcing this here in Australia
Definitely sounds like a scammer.
First thing to do is to tell VF to deactivate that SIM & account and to regain control of your mobile number by porting it to the provider of your choice.
Then deal with your banks, etc.
And then to work out how they managed to obtain enough information about you in the first place and try to close those loop holes.
Given that Lebara is prepaid, the only way a port will work is if the date of birth on the Vodafone account matches that on the Lebara account. So either the scammer opened an account under your name with fraudulent/stolen documents, or they have the same birthday as you (and knew this to be the case).
What did Vodafone say when you spoke to them?
