My phone just broke. and I wanna rush out right and buy a OPPO A73 at Kmart but they are locked to Optus.
Amaysim uses the Optus network, so would it work in the phone?
Will My amaysim Sim Card Work on Optus Locked Phone?

My old Samsung S3 was locked to Telstra and I was able to use a Kogan sim card on it.
Yes
yes
In my experience, there is no guarantee that the SIM will work unless the phone is unlocked.
Recently I bought a couple of Telstra locked phones but neither would run an Aldimobile SIM without being unlocked although I will accept that an Optus/Amaysim combination might be different but, for me, it would be a $249 gamble unless I accepted that I might have to pay, around $15 it would seem, to get it unlocked.
Find the unlock code before buying the phone. In your case, if it doesn't work straight away, you can get unlock codes on ebay for $20.
Should be cheaper than $20. I got one for a mobile broadband device for about $4.
Bought locked mobile from Optus store. Loaded Amaysim SIM. Works perfectly.
Thank everyone IT WORKED! was going to by unlocked at JB for 350 but kmart had it at 250 locked to optus. i waited to long and JB closed so saved 100 because im lazy.
Hi all
Just posting here to help others out there wanting to know about amaysim and locked optus phones. My mobile broke a few days ago and I didn't want to spend huge coin on a replacement phone. I too am with amaysim and I had the same question regarding amaysim sim in optus locked phones.
I even posed my question to an optus customer service rep online and they pretty much told me the amaysim sim won't work in a locked optus mobile. (but I'm not surprised a rep would say that😉)
I was looking at the hauwei Y6 2018 mobile. Unlocked everywhere it was about $200. At Australia Post they were selling it for $129 as an optus locked mobile. Well anyway I decided to take a risk and purchase it with the assumption that I may need to unlock it but I figured I'd be pretty square if I had to pay 80 bucks to unlock it because an unlocked hauwei Y6 would cost me pretty much the same amount as the optus locked phone and the unlocking fee.
Anyway turns out that the amaysim sim works in the optus locked hauwei y6 without having to pay to unlock it. Putting it out there for anyone in Internet land wanting to purchase that particular phone to use with an amaysim sim. Honestly it's a pretty good little phone for $129. My last phone that broke was a load more expensive and the quality is about the same.
Hope that helps someone!
