Destiny 2 is the biggest regretful purchase I've had in the past 5-6 years. The story is horrible and cringey. The end game is a facade. It doesn't reward you. Bungie can't balance to save their life. (profanity), what a piece of shit. Good riddance, I'm never buying your shit games again.

I liked Destiny 2, but I never played 1. Honestly, it really isn't that bad. The end game rewards are kinda meh so far, but, I didn't think the story was 'cringey' just kinda bog standard — I liked the Osiris story, though, and the moments with Cayde are always fantastic. The 3 person co-op missions are good, same with the group events that start in world (albeit they can get repetitive)— and I liked the two latest DLCs too. There are some great moments in the game, like when you're searching for a lost crew of the AI you're interacting with, I dunno, it was really interesting to me, but whatever. The raid missions are impossible though, and pvp is difficult for me, but I may just need to get used to it.
Doesn't feel that monetized to me— no more than Overwatch is. I haven't needed to buy anything at all. I routinely get exotic boxes and the like, new weapons, and legendary gear. The Xmas stuff— I had enough credits from playing that I was able to buy what I wanted, and the rest I quested pretty easily. I honestly don't get the narkiness from the player base regarding this this game. I get that Destiny 1 is better (especially the vehicles), but it also had a bazillion expansions and updates to get it to where it was— of course it has more end game. D2 has only had two DLCs so far, so the end game has only been added to twice now, ONE dlc which dropped only this week, and I presume you haven't played it.
Besides, it feels really slick as a FPS, shooting is really satisfying in it—some of the guns are amazing— reminds me of old Borderlands or Halo. Certainly a great smooth feel, much better than some other recent FPSs. That said, the sniper rifles in game sucked, but they said they were going to fix that.
Personally I think it's worth $20-30 at least. It's definitely more than decent, has a lot of content in it, and people are being super harsh on it just because it isn't Destiny 1.

Just finished the game on PC with the humble bundle, dont bother. I liked destiny one (bought the taken King edition for $20) and somehow 2 is worse in every aspect. It's like they made a decent game and then were like how do we monetize every single aspect?
