People still rent movies? How cute.

    • +7

      not everyone pirates movies :p

    • Never can wrap my head around how those stores still survive these days. For the price of movies from places like Amazon, that is, rather than just piracy.

      • +1

Amazon charge $2-6 to rent let alone buy a movie? Not everyone wants to buy movies and watch more than once.

They should sell downloaded bluray movies between 1-5 dollars. If Amazon can sell bluray lord of the rings for $30 then you have less overhead/distribution with downloaded movies. Problem is even Apple store makes heaps of money for downloaded movies.

Up to 50Gb of data per disc. Good luck trying to download that. Either users have to have insane bandwidth, or the data needs to be compressed down making blu-ray rentals superior.

    • Once a Netflix-streaming/Hulu-type service hits, Video Ezy is as good as dead. Same thing happened to Blockbuster. That's what you get for building a business model on rewind and late fees I guess.

  • Wonder does this applies to games as well? Wouldn't mind renting a game.

      • See in-store for conditions. At participating stores on surrender of voucher. Normal membership and hiring
conditions apply. Not valid on Public holidays and store discount days, Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Excludes Games, TV & box sets. Max. 1 per member per day. Offer expires 15/01/2011.
  • I would recommend the you phone the store you intend to go to beforehand.

only one of the two near to me honoured this voucher

since it is barcoded and the deal is for one movie only I would guess once they scan it no-one else could use it. I assume everyone will get a different barcode.

        • -1

race to get it scanned first! :P

        • Nay, all the barcodes are the same, apparently. Checked mine against the above, exact same.

Its a good thing Videoezy.com.au didn't crash as soon as it hit 5.00pm.
    Oh wait….

    NVM going alright now.

  • Thanks for the post! Just picked up DespicableMe for kids for free! Staff didn't even know. Not too well publised as not one sole in the store as was expecting a bit of crowd.

  • It worked for VideoEzy on Hutt St, Adelaide.
    Walkerville wouldn't honour the voucher.
