Lenovo Watch 9 Instructions for Non-Chinese Speakers

Hi all,

I have received quite a few questions regarding Lenovo Watch 9, so I will share some common answers

  • The website for the side-loaded android app is here: http://3g.lenovomm.com/redsea/com.pmpd.dmap.lenovo?ch=17071

  • You have to be careful to not click the big green button but the button as shown in this image: https://imgur.com/tvSSEDE

  • It should download as an English app named Lenovo Watch as shown in this gallery: https://imgur.com/a/E2alTPt

  • Battery life is around 9-12 months on a CR2032, replaceable but not rechargeable battery unless you get the rechargeable variant

  • To adjust the time using the calibration in the app, you are to set the current time seen on the watch, and not the current time in your location. The app will then auto set the time based on phone time. (Thanks Mttogo96 for this)

    Using the "Pointer Calibration Time" function, you enter the time that is reading on the watch face, NOT the time you are trying to set it to.

    Hello,

    Just received my Lenovo Watch 9 from Zapal deal.

    Here's what I found out in the last 2 hours

    (a) Back cover can be opened using a mini crowbar like tool that comes with cheap watch kits from Banggood
    (b) Cover pops open, but leaves minor scratch marks on the case
    (c) Hard to put back cover back on, had to use a rubber mallet from Daiso to whack it in place
    (d) Pairing with multiple phones / tablets causes flaky behaviour :-p hence need to open back to access reset button
    (e) Found English manual, and instructions for factory reset by press & hold button for 6 seconds :-D
    (f) If watch is not pairing properly, check to see if it's already connected to one of the paired devices in BT settings

    Otherwise, it's a good buy fr ~AUD$30 :)

      New version of the app came out, updated on my phone today. A bit better but still clunky

      This is a bit of a relief after feeling kinda infected by the earlier versions of the app. I notice that it still prompts me to do some internal upgrade bypassing the play store after installing though.

      Incidentally, v2.x didn't remind me to turn on Location and let the app access it - without that you can't connect to the watch. Might help if you couldn't get it to see the watch even with bluetooth on like me.

    well the battery life is not much. less than 1 month and mine is now flat…….

      Is it actually flat (did you have the back opened and check the battery voltage) or is it simply not running?
      Try pushing the button for 6 seconds to do the factory reset.

    Has anyone managed to get the phone-find function working? I press the button twice and it vibrates to indicate it will try to find phone, but the phone doesn't make any noise. I have checked my sound settings and such to no avail.

    Also, what is the command to turn the watch off? It says it's 3 seconds to turn it + Bluetooth on, but 3 seconds again just seems to turn off Bluetooth.

      Yep my phone makes a noise when you press the watch button twice

    I can't manage to get any notifications from the phone(calls or messenger etc) I have given it all permissions in settings, any idea?

    Also, does anyone know what the tiny tiny little writing along the bottom of the watch face is for? It shows 00 20 40 60 80 100

      I read somewhere that this was the % step goal, but I haven't figured out how this works yet

        Ah, okay figured it out so press the button once and the second hand will spin around and land the % completed of your step goal.

    Does anyone have problem maintaining the bluetooth connection to iPhone?
    The watch keep disconnecting from the App when the phone is locked.

    Downloaded the new version of the app via the google play store but it disconnects really quickly. Going to reinstall the .apk version.
