Hi

I wanted to get the feedback from this community on an idea I am pursuing.

The domain is https://www.assistmoi.com

The problem:
Searching for gifts is time consuming.
1. First you research ideas
2. check and read reviews
3. check availability and prices
4. check for discounts and coupons on OzBargain
5. check shipping times
6. Signup and place order

It is a similar issue with restaurants specially during busy days like Mothers day where you need to check availability with multiple providers.

This can be quite time consuming when you have a busy family and work life to balance.

Potential Solution:
Build a website where you get assigned a personal concierge that helps you with all of the above i.e. listens to your requirements, does the research and suggest options. Finally when you have decided, the concierge makes the booking/purchase.

Because the concierge will only work on gifts and restaurants, they could be assisted with smart research tools and existing wealth of knowledge to quickly get suggestions ready.

  Point 5: Most delivery companies have online tracking services if you've paid for it.
  Point 6: Entering the realm of remote assistants or something like the complimentary AMEX Platinum Charge Concierge Service, so any fees you issue will need to be competitive.

    Thanks. Hmm. I suppose the main point of difference would be a gift suggestion service where based on the recipient's interest we suggest gifts.
    And the restaurant booking service where we call up various restaurants and make the booking(where they don't take online bookings).

  Your comp div text needs some padding and you need to make the text smaller. Try and make the website responsive. You need better meta tag for google index and SEO.

  Have you tried to use woo commerce or open cart?

    The site is built with wix.com and it does appear to be responsive on my mobile. How did you test the responsiveness?

  Naming a site after a kath and kim reference that could cause spelling issues is a bit of a risk

    Hehe - I didn't think about Kath and Kim until now. I am not sold on the name yet. If feedback is positive and it becomes a real thing, I might revisit the name.

    I was thinking of $50/year for 5 restaurant bookings.

    I think the process can be made less time consuming by:
    1. Tools that check Restaurant websites like Zomato to making getting a list together quick.
    2. Not doing last minute bookings. The idea is that people will setup their re-occurring events in advance and we will prompt them and make the bookings also in advance (say 4 weeks ahead). This will mean less availability issues to deal with for us and better restaurant options for our customers.

    The gifts part is a bit harder as there is lots of websites to check. But for gifts, there is potential for the business to earn money through referrals (like the cash rewards referral system) but I also want to keep our model not tied to particular suppliers.
