Are there any Sydney based oz-bargainers out there who regularly buy beer?
What are your tactics to minimize the expense, do you buy in bulk? Dan Murphy's? What is the best brand from a value perspective?
Cheap Beer?

Comments
 - It is in the boxes of wine. - chateau de cardboard - Come on….it's Chateau de Shoebox

 - My go to tactic, I often use the deals on the bottom of shopping dockets from Colesworth.
Usually cases for around $40. Or 6 packs for $10. Seems to have increased to $12 more recently.- Last time I bought a case I just wandered into Dan Murphy's and picked up a case of Steersman Blonde for $39. Bit of a mistake - it's not that nice.
I don't think I have ever paid more than $42 for a case. I tend to look for a low carb full strength lager style.
 Whatever is on special.
Are you a member of the Dan Murphy's club? They often have good specials.
Aldi also has cheap beer. - Are you a member of the Dan Murphy's club? They often have good specials. - It's free to join and I've noticed the prices are quite often cheaper even without member offers. If you're an alcoholic like me it's a must-have

 - If you drink a lot of beer is it cheaper to get one of those home brewing kits probably the cheapest beer and some say certain brews are drinkable? - Decent home brew is cheap… If you ignore capex and the temptation to keep buying bits ;)
 - This. Bought a coopers kit from this deal, first brew turned out alright, looking to improve on next one. I would always see the reduced cans at my woolies but never thought anything of it, was able to get a few $7 cans recently.

 - Hollandia Premium is quite palatable. Full strength beer from Holland 4.7% - $30 a case from BWS. Don't forget to use discounted gift cards and Cash Rewards for an extra 7-8% off. And get free delivery for orders over $100 within an hour. - Also, use 2 different everyday rewards cards, when one is not being used, there's a good chance of getting 1000-2000 points offers from time to time.
 - Aldi beer is good. - $22.99 for a carton of 24 330ml stubbies is hard to beat and not a bad drop either. NZ made?
https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/liquor/beer-cider/beer-… - light beer should be free

 - thirsty camel - if you join the hump clube they send out a $10 voucher off a slab every 1-2 weeks.
 - This was a question I used to ask ALOT in my late teens. The solution I came up with was:
- Bludge off friends
- Take 4 Nurofen before a session
- Don't eat before a session
- Smoke a brew before a session
- Walk around drinking peoples empties which often contain at least 39 mils of totally drinkable quoff.
- Coogee bay bottle-o used to sell a hideous drop called Tooheys Red for $24 a case.
- Time travel back to before Kevin 07 decided an alcho tax was what the working class asked.

 - Sol beer is under $40 a case and very similar in taste to Heineken (may be brewed in same place?)
 - Aldi beer does the job. I get their pale ale - 24 bottles for $34. It's perfectly drinkable.

According to the anti-alcohol movement, "cheap" alcohol is a problem in Australia. I ask, where is this "cheap" alcohol you speak of?
