Just a quick post.

EB games is having a sale on preowned games "Buy 1 get 2 free" - presumably cheapest free.

Seems to be at least NSW, could be nationwide.

Grab yourself a bargain!!

Buy 1 get 2 free? Usually Buy 2 get 1 free.
That could mean $20 gets you 3 games.

  • thanks! can anyone confirm if this is for current gen or just a way to clear PS3/360?

i just checked the website - it is showing three for $18?

I can confirm there was Xbox One games there also. Saw titles like FIFA 17 so not too outdated games.

      • But as you can see from the picture, Fifa games are worthless at EB, they always have dozens of copies of each of them.

        • FIFA Street is pretty good.

According to the picture "Under $18, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U and DS"

  • But are there any bargains?

    • See for yourself ;)

Would you like to enlighten me as to how? I could rattle off some game titles but how am I supposed to know what console they have, what games they like and what their budget is?

In my opinion, up to 66.6% off is a bargain.

@pennypincher98: You could choose a game, then search on Ozbargain to see if it has been cheaper recently. You could Find another store selling one of the games and list the comparative price. You could even just sort the list on the website by highest price first, and then list a few of the most expensive games. It wouldn't hurt to check the price of those games new before posting them, as some are cheaper new than pre-owned at EB.

As most Ozbargain users will tell you, EB games is normally 66.6% more expensive to start with, so there may not be any deals to be had, even in a 'buy 1, get 2 free' sale.

Also, the Ozbargain rules state that you need to give an example of something in a sale: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…
Deal posts that contains ambiguous or non descriptive titles such as 'up to 50% off sale', 'big clearance' or 'sale' may be unpublished unless specific items are mentioned within the deal description

        • @Nukkels: that makes no sense as stocks are different in each store. Much easier to look yourself online or in-store.

  • Link to the website deal: https://ebgames.com.au/any/any/any/any/3-for-18

Means they're still $6 each, you're not going to be able to find 3x $6 games and get them for $2 each.

    • You can in store

    It's the same sale from:

    2 for $10

Which is now 3 for $18, increasing it by $1 each

    • Unless your chosen titles are all $14 and under ($4.66 each).

  • I thought it'd be buy 2 get 1 free, interesting

  • Can we get free shipping too :)

    • +1

They did for the Starlight Children's Foundation.

  • In store only?

    • Yeah, or $3 for $18 on their website.

  • The two EBs I went to had your usual stash of Just Dance, Rock Band, Rock DJ and FIFA titles. Throw in a smattering of Assassins Creed, Skylanders, Infinity and those god awful Kinect games and that’s your typical 2 free or 1 free or whatever EB sale.

Mind you if you have none of these games this sale is just for you.

Dirt cheap titles are great for replacing broken cases.

Got 3 cases and 3 coasters (Football manager, Fifa 09 and DJ hero-themed) for $2 total!

      • Exactly what I would do. Didn't realise until I left the store.

Thanks Pennypincher - picked up 3 old Wii Games - original Wii games hard to come by now as obsolete - replaced by Wii U - cheers :-)

I put in an order for six games online. I figured what arrived would look average, I was ready for some pretty crummy looking games, but what arrived just blew me away - a level of garbage I didn't think they sold. It's like they had these games soaking in water or something. And consistently garbage too - just garbage copy after garbage copy.

If the games work, I'll be happy in the end, but I've learned a lesson here today, I'll never gamble on sight-unseen 'used' games from EB again.
