My Optus contract is expiring this month so I came across this really good deal from Vodafone during search.
Until 21 May if you sign up online for $50 sim only plan on 12 months contract, you get:
- 24GB bonus data which makes a total of 40GB per month
- Unlimited national voice calls and SMS
- 1000 International minutes to zone 1 countries and 150 minutes to zone 2 countries
Plus you get:
- $5 monthly discount
- 8000 Qantas Frequent flyer points whose value is $80 at minimum
- $27 cashback from Cashrewards
- 10% additional discount if you sign up via Unidays – this offer is valid until 15/05 and not sure if cashrewards and this offer could work together
- Additional $5 discount if you already have existing postpaid service with them.
If all above discounts work, you could essentially get $50 plan for $26.
Here is how I calculated $26 based on maximum discount
$60 = $5 access fee discount for 12 months
$60 =10% student discount ($5) each month via Unidays
$27 = Once off cashrewards discount
$80 = If you sell 8000 qantas points for 1c per point
$60 = $5 additional access fee discount for 12 months if you already have existing postpaid plan with Vodafone
Total discount = $287
Total plan amount payable in 12 months = $50 x 12 = $600
Total payable after discount during life of plan = $600 - $287 = $313
Total payable after discount per month = $313/12 = $26.08
cashrewards cashback is a once off.
