[QLD] $10 off Your First Ride with Muve Rideshare

80
MUVF03

Muve are a new rideshare company based in Brisbane. They offer several car options with the lowest (mini) being even cheaper than Uber or any other rideshare company I have found.

They are currently only officially launched in Brisbane and Gold Coast but Melbourne will be launched soon.

What is a "mini" and why/how is it cheaper then Uber?

Edit: I think I figured out how its cheaper, they only charge 11% commission.

    • Yes, according to a driver I spoke to Uber charge 27.5% commission to drivers so even though Muve is cheaper to the customer the driver still makes more money.

  • Let us know if anyone gives it a go. My problem with Uber alternatives so far (and I would love to use them because the company sucks) is that they just don't have the driver base that Uber does. I can open my Uber app and get a lift to the airport at 3am that will arrive within 10 mins, but no other taxi app can do that atm.

    • I just recently did a trip to Perth/Broome and used a number of the alternatives. My experiences were:

Muve (home to Brisbane airport) - About 7-8 minutes wait at 7am Saturday, similar to what I would expect from Uber. Company is Australian based/owned.
GoCatch (Perth) - Consistently difficult to find drivers. The most reliable was when they "upgraded" me to a taxi. They also charge a pre-authorisation for the whole trip amount when you request it which is very annoying considering it can take multiple requests to secure a driver. Company is Australian based/owned.
Ola (Perth) - Really good. They seem to have a very large number of drivers and it was comparable to Uber in terms of reliability. Promo codes didn't work a couple of times so had to request them to fix that but they refunded the entire trip when it happened so customer service was good. Company is overseas based/owned.
Shofer (Perth) - About 15-20 minutes wait for a car. Cars are all company owned Camrys so good to know you were always going to get a decent sized comfortable car. Company is Australian based/owned.
Taxify (Perth and Brisbane) - I thought they had launched in Perth but I was never able to see a car available or make a booking. They appear to have cars in Brisbane now but I haven't had to use them. Company is overseas based/owned.
Hi Oscar (Perth) - Signed up an account but didn't end up trying them as they don't have any free ride or discount deals. App lets you choose your car/driver off the map though which I thought was cool. Appeared to be about 10-15 minute wait typically. Company is Australian based/owned.
