I was with TPG NBN for 2 years, and then decided to switch to Optus NBN since I want to consolidate all my services (2 mobile phone lines, and 1 home broadband), and I wanted acess to ESPN via Fetch TV. The speed has slowed drastically. Previously, I average around 40Mbps, but now, I get less than 10Mbps. I was on TPG NBN50 ($70/month), and now I'm on Optus SpeedPack 3 NBN50 (50Mbps) ($80/month). The only difference is service provider, router, and NBN modem.
Why are the speeds so significantly different? I've lodged a complaint to Optus. I don't even mind cancelling my contract with Optus because speed is more important that ESPN and Fetch TV. Can I cancel the contract? Can I bring in ACCC since they aren't delivering what I am contracted them with?
Thanks!
nbn minimum guarantee is 12. soon to be 25. so yes you have ground to cancel . if you have fttn and this is happening during off peak it is probably nothing to do with optus but still. you contact tio
