Good price. It seems to be similar to some refurb prices that I’ve recently seen.

i7 may have only been released in Sep 2016, however there has been 2 subsequent generations released?
$849 still seems like a significant sum for the entry level old tech model?Only one more generation, the 8 and X, both with the same A11 SoC.
Really depends on if technology has advanced to give any substantial difference or if it's just marketed as such to justify a higher price. I tend to buy the last iteration model because the gains are very marginal.
Still using my 3 year old MacBook retina. Can't see any reason to upgrade at all.
Bought my 256gb version for $850 last year. Price is still expensive I agree.
At the end of the day, Apple stuff tends to hold value well and continues to be supported for a decent amount of time in terms of updates/ability to run latest apps/etc. That being said the residual value is definitely not what it once was with Apple stuff (iPhones, Macs, etc), they still hold value much better than my Android phones did.

when i see they are saying $200 off , i was thinking $400 each after discount LOL
