[VIC] Grey Goose VX 1L Vodka for $145 @ Nicks Wine Merchants

50

Considered by many pundits to be one of, if not THE finest vodka on the planet.

'VX' (which stands for vodka exceptionelle) is according to the producers, a “significant step for the vodka/ white spirits category”. Launched in 2014 for Travel Retail, this new expression from the highly regarded Vodka producer is created from grapes from the Grande Champagne cru of Cognac and has a hint of 1er Cru cognac added.

Mike Birch, managing director of Bacardi global travel retail, comments: “This really is… creating a truly innovative and exceptional ultra-premium offering to enhance and expand the vodka experience for luxury spirits connoisseurs across white and dark categories." He adds, "… we wanted to create something truly disruptive in this category.”

Extravagantly packaged in a decanter reminiscent of a Cognac bottle, Francois Thibault, the creator of Grey Goose, added: “In creating Grey Goose VX, I wanted to capture the aromatic notes of a precious Cognac, bringing its delicate essence of orchard fruits, plum, apricot and the mild flavours of wild honey to the remarkable character of Grey Goose vodka.”

We have imported a very limited quantity into Australia. 40% Alc./Vol.

    Technically not a vodka.

"delicate essence of orchard fruits, plum, apricot and the mild flavours of wild honey"

Vodka is traditionally a flavourless drink. I seriously think this is overpriced and, personal opinion, Grey Goose is not very good. Chopin, Belvedere, or Tito's are all very good Vodka's.

    • its got those hints as it also has cognac in it
good price for that bottle. ive tried it as well not bad.
but i wouldnt pay that much for vodka.

Lucky for us, Chopin is on sale too!

      • That's an excellent price. I'd gladly take three of those over the Grey Goose. Personally Belvedere has my vote followed closely by Tito's, only because Chopin is so difficult to get (in Perth). Tito's is an interesting vodka because it is distilled from corn but don't let that put you off; it's a truly excellent vodka even more so considering it's American (distilled in Austin, TX). Just a pity we don't get US pricing on Tito's (~$30USD for 1.75L bottle).
