Need a "GOOD" ISP in Lakelands, WA for ADSL

I've just gotten a fellow out of his idiotic contract with Westnet. They broke his connection (did something to the user account/password) that they simply could fix. After way too long on the phone, many times, promised call-backs, worthless waste of time— it's over.

He has Telstra for his land-line at the moment, but I just despise them for internet. I think the 24-month-contract days ought to end. It's not a car— 12 months should be it, imho.

At any rate, he's one, older guy. He doesn't need unlimited or mega-speed. I'd like to get him with an Australia-based co, if there are any left?

No contract, no setup fee would be nice plusses. He has his own modem.

Opinions & experiences please?

Ta!

  • Just don't go with dodo

  • Maybe post in the whirpool forums?

    • Will do when I'm home later on.

  • Probably better off on a lower speed NBN plan on Aussie Broadband. There's some first month free codes floating around. No lock in contracts with Aussie.

    • The OP has asked for ADSL. Don't you think that he would have got NBN if it was available?

      • Yeah, I thought Lakelands was one of the first suburbs in WA to recieve it.

  • I'd go with Aussie Broadband. Australian based support staff who are very helpful, no contracts and very reliable.

  • Has anyone had any dealings with Spintel?

  • So, no recommendations for ADSL in WA, at all?

    Bump.

  • I don't think it matters which provider it is. Usually there's Optus or Telstra resellers. I'd go with a Telstra reseller as it's the best for adsl. Plenty of providers around
