I ordered a desktop of eBay using my $10 of voucher and received a message that it was damaged during transit with StarTrack. I was offered an alternative unit or my money back as apparently they have no more in stock.
I find it strange that they'd even know that it has been damaged during shipping. Wouldn't it normally just arrive here, damaged? Are they doing the old switcharoo?
Unfortunately the alternative unit is not suitable.
Also will I be refunded the full amount or do I loose my $10 off voucher?
I've also notice the desktop I ordered has been relisted at a higher price, but with 0 available. Are they waiting for my reply and then going to try and re-sell the item at the inflated price?!
StarTrack might've had an incident that damaged the cargo, so they are probably relaying information to the seller in advance so that they can take the necessary damage control
from my experience with cancelled or refunded orders, by default, you forfeit any vouchers that you use (with the exception of Gift cards — these are refunded to your original gift card account) however eBay does decide on a case by case basis and if you open a support ticket you may get a $10 credit back to your account.
With ebay listings going up in price but set with a quantity of zero, this is just the seller using it as a placeholder listing until they get more units in stock. It means they don't have to re-do the listing for SKU's that go out of stock.
