What can I do about this Bose QC35 Problem?

Hi all,

I started a thread a few months ago but I didn't get the a suitable response. Hopefully enough has changed now so I can get a new view on the issue.

I love the idea of owning Bose QC35 ii. With all the sales lately, it's always so tempting, but I need a WIRELESS Noise Cancelling Headphone solution, which ALSO has a good mic.

I'm hoping someone can recommend an external attachable mic for the QC35's so I can make/take phone calls whilst on a crowded bus, speaking softly directly into the mic so the person on teh other end can hear me clearly.

I'm happy to pay a premium price if the quality is good (Because this will solve a lot of problems for me, and will be a long-term solution).

Previously I was recommended a Jabra product, but I don't see how it would help.

I've looked at something like this:
https://www.headsetbuddy.com/clearmic-noise-cancelling-boom-…

But with this, I will lose the cordless capability of the headphones, in which case I may aswell purchase the QC25 for far cheaper, and not have to pay ~$60-$70 for an external mic as the QC25's have an in-line mic as far as I'm aware.

Can someone please recommend a solution? Or at least shed some light on why other people aren't having the same problem? What am I missing here…don't people want to be able to take/make calls with awesome sound quality?

Thanks

Hence the need for good quality mic so I can do so without disturbing others.

Not really you’re still going to be that person. It’ll just be without you yelling because they may be able to hear you better…

As someone who often has at least 5 phone meetings a day nothing is more annoying then those trying to do the meeting on the way to work. There’s ALWAYS background noise.

If you aren’t gonna make it to the office then do the meeting at home don’t do it on the go.

In your previous posts you said you’ve started a new job. Don’t you get a decent headset with your job?

I've had a pair of the QC35ii for a while now, and I've never really had an issue with sound or complaints with voice quality when going through the phone.

The only time it's been an issue was when my headphones paired with my computer and my phone, and I was talking on skype through the PC wirelessly. It was a little choppy and didn't stream music 100% smoothly (chop out here and there). When it's been connected to my phone and I call through that it's always been great. However, I had an S8 which has pretty good Bluetooth hardware. Mind you I haven't used it too much in loud environments either.

What phone do you have? Based on my experience, the Bluetooth hardware makes a bit of a difference.

    • I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

I'm a very heavy phone call user. I spend ~3-4 hours a day on phone calls so quality is pretty important to me.

I'm almost certain the mic wouldn't be sensitive enough to pick up my whisper on a bus, particularly in a crowded/loud bus (People talking/obnoxiously loud bus engine etc)

      Thanks!!!

People that wear NC headphones, and talk, will not end well. Especially you wanting to whisper, you'll be screaming without you knowing

    • Logged in to say this.

Even with just normal headphones people talk louder, with noise cancelling headphone you'll naturally go even louder.

  • What am I missing here…don't people want to be able to" hear my drop dead brilliant vocals.

    No.

  • I use my QC35ii's to make phone calls all the time. Only headphones I have had where the other people can actually hear you properly.

I would try them at a store if your unsure.

  • so I can make/take phone calls whilst on a crowded bus,

Oh for the love of god, NO…..

  • Why don’t you make your phone calls in your A200 AMG? Surely that’s got a Bluetooth head unit
