Used a Promo Code with Uber Eats, Order Was Cancelled after Expiry of Promo Code

I managed to get a $70 promo code with Uber Eats. The code had an expiry of 6/5/18 at 7pm, so I used the code at 12pm of that day to preorder food to be delivered a couple of days later. However the next day on 7/5/18 my order was cancelled. I contacted Uber Eats, they said they will refund the money I spent on the order, but they said they won’t refund me a new promo code because the one I used has now expired. They’ve said that they won’t be able to do anything.

Long story short, I used my promo code before the expiry date, but my order was cancelled after the promo code expired I’ve lost the promo code.

Just wondering if this is standard practice. And if so fair enough. Cheers.

  I’m sure it says to use the promo code on deliveries while working the active window. Not order now for 3 days outside the coupon window. WTF were you thinking would happen? Would you be happy if they delivered you 3 day old food?

  Probably had to be used within the active period.

  The codes had to be used by 7PM Sunday however nothing in the terms and conditions about placing the order and scheduling the delivery for the next 6 days. Most restaurants are OK with this, however some will cancel the order. Same thing happened to me as Gami cancelled the order for up coming sunday, but I Quickly used the voucher for another order. So far the restaurants have confirmed all the orders.

  Funny cause another restaurant called me and asked why I am scheduling an order for Friday. I got the $90 voucher so placed a big dinner for Friday night so I actually spoke with the manager in person as this place is close to me.

  But, the risk is the order being cancelled and you will not get a voucher back.

  Sounds about right. Same thing would happen on eBay if you use one of the 10% codes and a seller cancels the order. The buyer would not get the coupon back.

  You took the risk by not using it for an order to be made before the expiry; otherwise, you would've received the coupon back on Uber Eats.

  That is totally on the restaurant. Me and my housemates managed to get tons of coupons that day probably worth $1000 and we have currently placed orders all throughout the week until Saturday and till now we've been receiving all orders without any issues so it totally depends on the restaurant you're ordering from. Ubereats exec told me only to pre order from restaurants who were open at the time I was ordering so that they can accept it then itself.

  Just wondering how people are contacting UberEats? I had a promo code that didn't apply but the order went through anyway (I paid full price). I have contacted them through app and also Facebook, and have received no reply (order last Saturday).

    I've contacted them before using the app. You need to wait 1-2 weeks.

    I called them and had no problem in sorting things out.
