Hoping to get some advice on purchasing a decent mountain bike for around the $1000 mark.
Is this a decent deal?
How are the specs for the price?
Recommendations are welcome for any other current offerings.
Thanks

Yeah that seems like a good bike for the price. If a hardtail is adequate for your needs this one would be able to handle a mix of trails quite comfortably.
Now is the perfect time to buy as most brands are clearing their 2018 stock to make way for 2019 stock which is usually released mid year to the start of the third quarter, I recently within the last 2 weeks purchased a $4,000 giant mountain bike for $3,000 just because it was on sale and I dared to asked for a bit more of a discount, so there are deals to be had, don't be afraid to haggle a little bit all they can say is no.
Also what type of riding do you envisage doing? That Cannondale will be suitable for proper cross country mountain biking. If you aren't going to be doing actual mountain biking and will just be riding in your local park or on the road that bike might be over kill, but if you are looking at cross country mountain biking as a weekend hobby that will be fine and you can also consider:
Sit on all the bikes and see how they feel.
Edit: That Cannondale is a nice bike also, just proposing some other options if you are interested.
Thanks for your reply. I'll be using it for commuting and cross-country. Basically a mix of sealed and unsealed road and some trails.
Depends on what you are doing with it. Commuting? XC? Downhill? Mix of everything?
As someone who just recently rebuilt an old bike and built a complete new bike from scratch, don’t go that way unless you have time to spare. I thought building my own would save me a heap of money, and it didn’t.
But all that being said, for $1400, this is a pretty good bike for the money. Should have enough functionality to do everything you will need into and it has some pretty good stuff on it. Just make sure you get the right sized bike to suit you as this sale only seems to be for the small frame size.

Hoping to bring it overseas with me sometime to ride in south-east Asia.
Looks like decent spec. Make sure you get the right size. $1k for a hardtail should be a pretty decent bike.
For $1k don't go for dual suspension, you are better off getting a hardtail - especially for the usage you indicate.
If looking at other brands, watch out for Fluid (Anaconda). Their RRP seems to be inflated, but they are typically good value when on sale. Same spec as brands like Trek, Giant etc, but a bit less on price.
I know this comment is quite late, but for anyone in future, I would personally avoid most Cannondale bikes simply because they ask use the very problematic BB30 bottom bracket. Thousands of people on the internet are complaining about a creaking noise in their bike and often it is linked to a press fit bottom bracket, if which the BB30 is the oldest and worst design. Google it and you'll see.
The specs for this bike state it has a BB30.
Cannondale make very good bikes.
And that is a particularly good price for that model. Other stores have it discounted to around $1750
