  • This is a JOYtoBUY…

  • Thanks OP, ordered one, hope it gets delivered, previously ordered from zapal in Feb ..never arrived

  • Got one for my switch, hopefully seats it well

    • Only issue would be air vents on the lower back potentially blocked. Could make a few cutouts though

    • doesn't the switch have a kick stand?

  • The black one is AUD 5.60

  • what is difference between joybuy and geekbuying?

    • What isn't different between them? Both are vastly different companies.

      • Are there defining pros and cons while buying from one store over the other? Do they have similar shipping times and who has has better customer service? At this price, I'd expect a few weeks wait regardless.

        • Joybuy/JD.com is like eBay, AliExpress and Amazon where there are multiple sellers selling their products while GeekBuying is a single store itself.

        • @Clear: but both under the same owners?

so would joybuy have more deals or be cheaper than geekbuying?

        • @pinkybrain: What makes you think they're the same owner?

Joybuy has more products but at the same time they both sell a mix of the same and different products. Joybuy will be cheaper on some products and Geek will be cheaper on others.

        • @Clear:

The reason why I think they are the same company,
          because

-it looks like you posting deals on their behalf like you do for geekbuying
-representing and answering questions on their behalf
-uses the word "buy" in the title..

It is similar to zapal and zapalstyle.

Gearbest and their many other stores..

        • @pinkybrain: Funniest comment of the year!!! So much misinformation that I could hang this on the wall.

-it looks like you posting deals on their behalf like you do for geekbuying

Why? Because I'm good at posting Joybuy deals? Well shit, I guess all those catalogue deals being posted for Coles/Woolies are by employees too, oh and don't forget eBay, OH AND GOOGLE…. yeah all these Google Play freebies… how could people find them so easily? Google is shilling /s

-representing and answering questions on their behalf

Representing? Being helpful does not automatically make someone a store rep. If you check my comment and post history you'll see that I help out EVERYWHERE including the forums.

-uses the word "buy" in the title..

That means bugger all mate. I could easily argue that OzBargain, Fairfax Media, Clive Palmer, Amazon and Maccas are the same company because they're all using the letter a in their name.

It is similar to zapal and zapalstyle.

Well duh. What do Zapals, Zapalstyle and Joybuy all have in common? They sell Chinese electronics and household goods overseas. You know eBay does as well? And half of Queen Victoria Market?

-representing and answering questions on their behalf

          So do you represent geekbuying?
and what about joybuy, are representing them or not?

I know you may help in other posts, but I do see you posting more on the geekbuying posts.
And people have asked you for some deals on the companies behalf.

That means bugger all mate. I could easily argue that OzBargain, Fairfax Media, Clive Palmer, Amazon and Maccas are the same company because they're all using the letter a in their name.

Letter A is not a good counter argument.
You are trying to grasp at straws here.

It's the full word or style of the name that is the key.

          ie.
          Geekbuying / Joybuy
          Zapal / Zapalstyle.

It is easy to see why someone would assume that they are part of the same company or owner.

Also chinese stores tends to do this (name the stores in similar name or create a similar looking site)

Just look at zapal and zapalstyle, are they not the same company?

Gearbest has multiple sites that have been posted on here,
and originally we didn't know that it was all just an affliate site of Gearbest (same owners)
so nothing wrong with me assuming the joybuy would be a geekbuying affliate site.

It is just a curious question…
Just relax dude, no need to get so upset about it considering that you are saying you are not representing them,
why does my question about whether they are same company and whether you are representing them, upsetting you?
Seems odd and is an over reaction when most people not be so upset or care..
        • @pinkybrain: Oh you're actually serious?

          So do you represent geekbuying?

Yes this should be obvious since I have the Associated tag.

and what about joybuy, are representing them or not?

As I have previously said, no. There is no Associated tag next to my name.

Just look at zapal and zapalstyle, are they not the same company?

The answer to this is obvious… of course they are! Zapals said it and both websites say it too. ShoppingSquare is also a part of Zapals Inc which again is common knowledge around here.

Gearbest has multiple sites that have been posted on here,
and originally we didn't know that it was all just an affliate site of Gearbest (same owners)

More like you didn't know. Gearbest having dozens of other sites has been public knowledge on OzBargain since early 2016 (before you joined). Infact Buzzfeed and other sites have done stories on Global Top E-Commerce and their subsidiaries' websites.

GeekBuying have nothing to do with Joybuy (JD.com) whatsoever. They have no sister websites active on OzBargain.

Feel free to TWAM the mods if you're still not convinced. I have made my relationship with GeekBuying public multiple times over the years here.

  • The price for the white one went up :(

  • damn - why don't they design these things so you can leave your charger plugged in.

    • Sideways.

  • A true ozbargainer would make a stand out of cardboard.

    ;)

  • Green and yellow is still on $0.99 USD but will expire in about 2hrs 50mins from now.

Edit: my bad. Both out of stock already.

  • Black and white are back instock for anyone who missed out.

  • 20-30 Days shipping :(

    • That's China for you. Sometimes Joybuy are really good and you can have your order arrive in 2 weeks.

  • Why do I need to create an account? I would rather navigate and buy as a guest.

  • No longer shipping the White stand to Australia :(
