Been burnt a couple of times with memory sticks and don't want the same issue with micro sd card. Is there a safe way to know the card is legit on eBay? I'm only need a 64Gb card so any advice would be golden… I want to buy off eBay to use a voucher but if too risky will go elsewhere.

I recommend cheapchips.com.au, nearly as cheap as ebay but never fake. I have bought dozens from him. Tested the first 8 or 9 with H2testw.
Amazon US my dude is the most reliable imho.
Bought two SanDisk micro SD cards from them so far both good.
Longest one is about a year and a bit old.
Isn't there software that detect fake sd cards?
