I wonder if the Soniq U42V14B is good enough TV for 6 months for $300? I wouldn't like to spend some "crazy" money and then resell it for half the price on the quick.
Is The Soniq U42V14B A Decent TV?

I had one for 2 yrs and it was working when I gave it away to a mate and its still going strong sound is weak but most ppl run some kind of amp, soundbar etc these days.
Picture quality was fine colour was fine I never bother with looking for bleeding, is black actually black bullshit like some do it's a cheapie it works etc is what I look forI've had one for a couple of years with no issues. Its not an amazing TV but its not bad.
Try a Hisense.
42" 4K TV? You wouldn't really see the benefit of 4K on a TV that size
Soniq TVs are pretty rubbish anyway - I'd recommend something like a Sony or Panasonic 42" refurb on Graysonline for the about same priceThe problem is that even a refurbished tv is so expensive for 6month use…
Please be careful. every Soniq item I've owned (from JB HiFi) has died well within the warranty period and I've had to have it repaired/replaced. 2x 32" TVs stopped powering up, one @ 3 months, the other 8 months, a portable DVD player also, the LCD screen suffered a whiteout at 2 months with only a couple of uses under its belt. Go the 60" Sony Wifi TV for $945 on OzBargain today!!
I'd echo this. Soniq is the worst chinese brand for TVs. Better off with something from Aldis or Goodguys or some such.
PLus you're dealing with the cowboys at JB.
TO counterpoint I think I have three TVs from the old DSE days and they're all running.
Annecdotally I've seen heaps of SOniq TVs up and die.
Sorry I just read your budget was $300, please disregard my closing statement!
It is not so much about the budget is for the hassel of selling a new tv in 6 months for half the price.
I think I'm better off just buying the Bauhn 49" 4K tv for 400$
What's the biggest size tv you can fit
