New Zenbook Laptop Doesn't Sit Flat

So I bought a new Zenbook in the latest eBay sale, received it yesterday and have since noticed one of the four rubber feet doesn't sit on my desk while the other three do. I have tried it on a few surfaces, it is definitely the laptop.

Now this unfortunately causes it to rock quite noticeably (at least a 5mm gap between the foot and desk). Obviously this isn't a huge fault, but for a new laptop over $1k I wouldn't expect this. I have contacted the seller and am waiting to hear back. Also there didn't appear to be any evident damage during shipping.

In the mean time I am curious what you guys think a reasonable solution is?

Cheers.

  • ASUS Support.

    • …under that airy rubber foot.

      ASUS have probably the worst support. Normally they outsource to this tiny ass shop that take weeks to do anything about your issue.

    5mm = half a centimeter!

    Buy rubber feet from Kmart. Stick 2-3 together below the short foot.

    Bend your laptop back into shape.

    • A hammer and anvil should do the trick.

  • Same issue on a new HP EliteBook. It's surprisingly annoying.

  • If it bothers you you should recieve a replacement or repair.

  • Remove all rubber feet or tape five 5 cent pieces together to jam under the dodgy foot (like they do in restaurants/bars with paper/coasters).

    Whack some dents into your desk so the laptop sits nicely?

    But yeah 5mm is huge! You wouldn't be able to type with that nonsense.

  • I'd be concerned as to why the case is bent, could be a demo and have a heat issue perhaps return and try again

  • Have you measured the gradient of the table vs the gradient of the notebook. When you combine them it may seem alot worse than it really is. Or it could just be the table.
