Amazon are having a sale on two of their Kindle e-readers.
Kindle 6" e-reader (the cheapest model) - $99 ($10 off)
- Touchscreen display that reads like real paper
- Unlike tablets, no screen glare, even in bright sunlight
- Battery lasts weeks, not hours
- Lighter than a paperback, holds thousands of books
Kindle Paperwhite - $159 ($20 off)
- High-resolution 300 ppi display - reads like real paper.
- Bookerly, our exclusive font, designed to read easily and comfortably at all sizes.
- Built-in adjustable light - read day and night.
- Unlike tablets, no screen glare, even in bright sunlight.
- A single battery charge lasts weeks, not hours.
- Lighter than a paperback, holds thousands of books
The main difference between the two is the Paperwhite has a higher PPI and has a built in light. It apparently doesn't shine the light directly into your eyes like a backlit device (e.g. tablet) but it sounds like it is still a blue/white light and it can't be turned off (only dimmed). People do report less eye-strain (compared to a backlit device) when reading at night though.
Prefer Kobo eReader because Pocket means you can sync web pages for reading later.
