Hi Guys,

Can you please advise what is in my letter box that ants are eating it? There was no ants before. What is this white stuff?

Is it termite? It is an iron poll mounted letter box.

    I have the exact same problem in my letter box, except mine's a metal insert inside a communal brick one. It was fine when I moved in and the problem started during spring last year. The lazy neighbour next to mine never emptied his damn box and his mail would stack up and just cram and hang out, get soaked in the rain, dirty, wet, mouldy, a perfect haven for ants. Then the buggers migrated over to mine. Probably because the idiot had no room left in his box for them to move they upgraded to mine.

      It is stand alone letterbox, but it is now washed.

    Throw some ant sand in there, and sprinkle it around the base of the letterbox to stop more from getting in.

    The white things are ant eggs. I've just destroyed an entire colony of ants/eggs that decided to move into our car and they look exactly the same.

    Get some ant rid (liquid) and they'll all be dead in no time.

    Thank you guys for your support. After water run down, surface spray and putting baking soda, ants haven't come back. Cheers.
