How hard is it to change oil ? Can I learn it from youtube ??

    • +1

Yes you can, what car do you have

      • Hyundai i30. Ta

    • It's pretty straight forward, but depends on the car and access to the sump plug and oil filter.

Easy job - some cars you may not even have to jack up to get access to sump plug and oil filter. Always use the manual or contact manufacturer to get the right oil grade and type, right filter. Sometimes you need to replace the sump plug - good to have a spare before you start the job! Always do it on a flat, level surface and use first gear, handbrake, maybe chocks to prevent any risk of car rolling. Always use jack stands when under the car - supporting it on the jack is not good enough if any part of you can get trapped under the car (things like changing a tyre you can get away with it - but if any of you is under the car - use stands! Jacks can come down on their own or if the car/jack is bumped even slightly!).

Also - some manufacturers can be a bit shit about DIY servicing of cars - if your car is newish and still in warranty - I'd personally get it done at a dealership so there are no potential warranty issues down the line - anything at all goes wrong with a car in warranty you can demand to have it sorted - sometimes there is a grey area if you DIY or use the car outside intended purpose and there is evidence. If not - DIY away, there are $$$ to be saved!

  • I bought something like this last week from SCA but yet to pick it up. I cannot see the details of the order when I click on the order number and I always go back to the same page.

Is it happening to anyone else as well?
