Hoping someone familiar with Yamaha can help me sort this out as it's doing my head in.
When I'm on TV and press Setup on the Yamaha remote it will switch over to HDMI 1 and show the Yamaha setup OSD menu on the TV.
When it was working fine it wouldn't switch over and would display the setup options on the AV display itself.
The only time the OSD should show is if it's already on HDMI.
Everything else is hooked up properly and works fine.
This was my first thought too. My tv only has 1 hdmi-CEC port, maybe switch HDMI ports?
Thing is it didn't do it before and has been working perfectly for months.
Only thing that changed is that I did some cable management but everything was plugged back in correctly.
Oh, what model Yamaha AV receiver is it? Maybe try a firmware upgrade too if available?
I haven't seen the unit in question so can't help too much but if you are getting the same setup menu on a big screen that you can see better than the av one is that a huge obstacle? Or am I mistaken that when it is on TV you cannot access the menu controls via the AV remote but are forced to use the TV remote?

Yes, because when I'm watching TV and press Setup on the Yamaha remote it changes to HDMI 1 so I have to change it back to TV.
By design the OSD should only appear when I'm on HDMI and not switch over from TV.
If it's on TV then Setup should only appear on the AV display and not change over to HDMI.
Disable HDMI-CEC on TV?
