Spinach and Cheese Pastry Pie Size from Costco?

Was at family party and had some nice spinach and cheese pastry my favourite. Was pretty large too like a big big monster pie.

I remember getting some of these back in the day at a nice bakery like 15 years ago but then I lost track of it.

Wondering if anybody has had the same spinach cheese pastry from Costco or other place in western/inner west Sydney and how much.

Might even buy a Costco membership if the price is affordable or alright.

Man if they delivered they would make a fortune off of me. Might have to Airtasker it when I can confirm it.

Michelle's patisserie and bakers delight used to have a similar recipe before but they changed it and now it's like 95% pastry 5% spinach too much pastry this one is perfect you can actually taste the spinach and it tastes good.

So can anybody confirm this spinach mystery or recommend a good one somewhere in Sydney where it's all spinach and not much pastry.

The thing you are thinking of is Spanakopita
and its a standard thing at Costco (its their own brand)

    • Any other places I can get it besides costco. Have never seen a Greek bakery before.

The one I ate was like a huge pie and not individual pieces. Any idea where I can get that I know already where to get the spinach rolls and triangles and it's not that I have tried.

This was like a huge pie size of a large plate.

  • Spinach and Ricotta roll? $2-$3 from the Deli (uncooked) or $4 from any 711 (cooked). I have it once every week.

    • It's not the triangles you can buy from the cold section at coles or Woolworths it is a different design and flavour (much better imho)

Been trying to search for something like it for ages

      Similar to this kinda

Sorry in French use Google translate.

      But yeah spinach puffs.

  • Was a family party, you couldn't ask where they got it from?

    • I will next time I see them definitely but I don't really like to communicate with them other than face to face because I think they wouldn't want to communicate with me online though I don't know.

Isn't it kind of strange just making the conversion solely or initially about food?

      • Isn't it kind of strange just making the conversion solely or initially about food?

Not really, it's family, I'm sure you have other reasons to talk to them

        • I guess so you are right just me being over paranoia as per usual.

  • Alot of greek places have spanakopita, there is also alot of recipes online, its quite easy to make yourself.

    • not easy at all, just buy less hassle with something you're not familiar with and you know it will taste great.

    • Can recommend any in the western Sydney area anywhere from Parramatta to Penrith to Katoomba, Blue Mountains.
