Earning Velocity Points from BP

Hi All,

Just wondering how to earn Velocity points from BP. Been to BP twice to fill up the tank and both times failed to earn any Velocity points.

  1. First time, I only have the digital Velocity barcode on my mobile, the sales attendant said I need to bring the original card.
  2. Second time, hubby had the Velocity card when paying. Attendant swiped the magnetic strip and said it didn't work, referring that the card is broken…apparently he wasn't very helpful either…

I just ordered a replacement card from Velocity..

What's everyone else experience?

    I swipe the Velocity card first then my credit card.

      This. Always ask for the receipt as it says how many standard Velocity points you earn

    So it's using the magnetic strip, not the barcode?

        What if my Velocity card has a cash balance on it as it is also a Prepaid VISA card?How does it know whether I am paying or swiping for points?

        Can I pay by BP Giftcard while earn VFF points?(Found the answer is yes.)

    BP servos have temporary Velocity cards at the counter. You can swipe one, pay for your fuel then make a points claim through your Velocity account using the temporary card number.

      The temporary card only worked for my son on base points. They require a BP fuel account to be created in order to gain the 500 bonus points they advertise.
      I'm prepared to be corrected on my experience…

        The 500 bonus points is only available to new sign ups to Velocity (not BP). Its the first item in the T&C listed at the foot of this page https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/apps/velocity/minisite…
        The OP is already a Velocity member so is ineligible for the 500 sign up bonus points and just wants to earn points on their spend. A temporary card that can be linked to their Velocity account will allow that
