How to Fix Paint Chips?

well, ive just purhased a compact sedan second hand from a private seller,

am happy with the car, except for about 8 paint chips on the front that look like bugs have been squashed on it and chipped off,

the paint is chipped past the clear coat and into the dark metal, theyre very small, but there is a bit of rust on the chips,

whats the best/economic way to fix them?
Maybe im paranoid but dont want the rust to spread!

  • Nail polish.

  • Rust converter plus a touch up pen colour matched to your paint code

  • Check out Dr color chip. 12% promotion is on now

  • Sand away the rust areas with super fine grit wet auto sandpaper, then undercoat, properly matched colour spray paint and polish.

Colour matching may not be easy though since the paint color fades slightly with the age of the car.

  • To go a local automotive paint store, bring your car. They will color match it and mix up a bottle of touch up paint.

Clean out any dirt/grit from the chip and apply the touch up paint. Let it dry well before washing the area again.

Shouldn't cost much for a touch up bottle - maybe $20 or so.

EDIT: To fix the rust, you need to sand it off or use a chemical to neturalise it. I would always go the sanding off method - but considering you asked to get a result you would be happy with it, I would take it to somebody
