Best Home Phone Plan (no bundle home phone only)

Need cheapest phone plan for the below criteria (multiple situations so i can show and compare to household since i am in charge of finding us a better plan)

This is for home phone plan only no need for nbn plan.

We are going with Telecube 12/1 XL 1000gb $35/month for nbn fttn home broadband plan.

so looking for prices for these options

  • receive only incoming landline home phone payg (forgot who said or where i found some provider doing this for like $5-10/month)
  • local calls incoming and outgoing payg (not sure who is the best price)
  • unlimited local and national calls incoming and outgoing (not sure who is the best price)
  • unlimited local and national calls including mobile and special numbers incoming and outgoing payg (not sure who is the best price or which plans includes calls to like 1300 numbers and mobiles as some only do landlines and not mobiles that is extra)
  • international calls incoming and outgoing to india payg (no idea which is the best pay as you go rate provider out there)
  • unlimited international and local calls incoming and outgoing to india (current best one i found is acn $29/month)

so yeah we need a home phone plan.. for pretty much three tiers to compare.. receive only/local and national calls/international calls

what plans have you guys found are the best.. we are leaning towards local and national and mobile and special numbers unlimited and using a separate mobile plan for international calls

address is in katoomba nsw 2780

I would definitely suggest telecube: https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/nbn/plans/

Is the NBN available at your address .. at that price, speed and allowance you must be on an old ADSL1 offnet plan or old legacy plan and you've just not looked at getting a better deal.. what sort of services does your phone nubmer kick up with local providers…

Dont go for optus .. speaking from experience, heard bad things for TPG but I had ADSl off net with them for a few years with no issue…. telstra are ok but their prices are never cost effective… I have just registered with telecube noted above for the NBN that goes live middle of June so I can let you know how that goes if your still working through getting the ok from the flatmates

      • At that cost though seems unlikely … dont remember the heading saying NBN in it before… sounds like phone line on top of a normal adl connection wasn't NBN around $50 at first and now a little bit cheaper … ADSL1 at my old place was about 12mb .. new place is adsl2 and tops out at 17mb…. If i can get 100 or even 50 from the NBN least I wont have to kick my kids off youtube to watch netflix

  • be wary of ultracheap eg. buzztelco is shite. I'm with tpg - they've been good.

    • How much you paying with tpg

  • Just starting to look at NBN myself. I've just found this post on Whirlpool. This guy has recommendations for different NBN usage volumes and speeds. Might be able to help you out.

For local calls, check if your mobile plans have unlimited calls.

For calls to India/OS, can you get your family/friends move to a free messaging app, like Skype, Whatsapp, Viber, FB Messenger, etc? Otherwise have a look at some VoIP plans (which let you call a real landline or mobile number) which you can bundle with your NBN plan, or a separate VoIP provider. Can't really help there as I don't call OS.

    HTH.

  • Merged from Cheapest 12/1 500-1000GB NBN FTTN and Receive Only Phone Plan

what is the cheapest 12/1 1000gb nbn only data plan

So far telecube seems to be the best at 12/1 1000gb XL plan at $40/month (previously $35/month before price hike)

Just need an Internet connection don't need super high speed. But need 500-1000gb minimum just in case so no bill shock from overcharge data and so we don't get shaped too early and have dialup speeds for the rest of the month.

Also looking for a receive only phone or incoming calls phone as we are all switching to mobile plans individually in my household.

Open to local unlimited calls if cheap but I know receive only phone plans are cheaper.

Was going to get a $29/month ACN International phone plan with unlimited calls to India but we decided that we can just find a mobile plan for cheaper as only one out of the three household members need it.

So tl;dr 12/1 Fttn nbn 500gb minimum and phone plan with just receive only capabilities.

The address of the home is in Katoomba.

Telecube still has promotion till end of this month on 12/1 mbps 1000gb plan for $35.

      https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/nbn/plans/special/E4840…

      • Oh wow do you know if I get locked in to that account indefinitely or is it a one month only deal

        • Click on the link, the front page has the answers.

        • @jdr: Cant find it but no worries with live chat now

  • What is a good website to find home phone plans only not bundles of home phone plans and broadband

all the comparing sites i know and have checked so far only show both aka bundles which i dont need since we already have a nbn plan with telecube seperately
