I don't often see RM Williams boots discounted. So if you're looking to spend half a grand on boots, this could make it worthwhile.

The theory is that a pair of RMs last a lifetime. Not personally tested.

    proudly made in Romania

A lot of the better shoes are made in Romania. What you obviously dont appreciate is the attention to detail and quality that RMW and others demand of their product compared to the consumer crap like Nike/Adidas/etc etc, which are utter junk.

I have a pair of leather Nike which have last and still going strong after 7 years… wait just checked my order, 2010/12/31 Nike Air Max Skyline Leather Mens Black/White 10 UK.

These are worn daily at the GYM and I've broken other shoes (Merrell Soccer) 1st day doing calf press.

I am amazed they're still going though, and specially after so much abuse.

99: Perhaos you are a light walker. Then again considering we have no idea of your activities or a comparison against something significantly of more quality how exacty is this a test ?

        • but your point about merrell is exactly what im talking about regading the quality of "consumer" shoes. You simply would never expect or hear that happening to quality shoes.

Read the page, these are made in Australia. I still prefer the craftsman though.

Harold boots are an identical style, much cheaper and are made in Melbourne Australia. They have a much smaller marketing budget though!

    • Their shoes tend to be made in Romania, but I'm not aware of any of their boots being made overseas.

    • I think the Chelseas (craftsman, sydney, Macquarie etc) are still made here in Australia while their lace up shoes are Romanian made.

  • These shoes look terrible if you don't have big feet as a male. just saying.

    • I'd be more inclined to say that they can look odd if you have very narrow feet like me. I can never take advantage of these deals because I have to custom order an 'E' width. The last(s) used that are more narrow than 'F' make for a very pointy toe box.

Came here not for another pair but to learn from others comments 😀

  • FYI, according to someone who works on the production line, the quality has, inevitably, slightly dropped since their purchase by LVMH.

    • Sad if it is true, it will be like all brands that were bought out by big corporations.

I love how people say that you can wear these all day out in the paddock or wherever and then with a suit…answer is "No"….

go back to buying shoes from big w

      • Funny you say that, I'm wearing the Work Boots from them as I type.

I've tried the RM Williams boots, and I really don't get what the hype is all about. Better to grab two Woollies plastic bags, fill em up with $408 worth of eneloops, and tie them around my feet.

        • you're a millionaire, you saved 385 bucks… life changing

  • I wear Blundstones, less than $200 and feel like they will last a lifetime. Are these much better?

    • +1

I have both. These are definitely better

    • Try Steel Blue, so much nicer, Australian made. Dropped Blundstones years ago after sore feet.

  • Can it run in 4k @ 144fps?

  • Do rm Williams sell good quality shoes or is their focus mainly boots.. Never been a boots person

  • "Last a lifetime."

Like Grandpa's old axe that's on its third head and fifth handle.

Bought some RMs in the mid-2000s and ~5 years later the soles were peeling off at the heels.

Cost to get them re-soled was about 80% of buying new.

Nice boots, don't get me wrong, but I struggle to see value in the cost. Would need to be closer to 50% off to get me interested.

  • This price is not a bargain

    • if you want a bargain go to kmart

  • I got the Adelaide boot at the outlet for 299. They are really comfortable boots though, even after standing around all day for work.

  • Anybody compared craftsman boots with Rossi Tennant boots? https://rossiboots.com.au/product/5020/
