Kyoto man.
There always seems to be occasional deals for Narita which is Tokyo. Then you can just get a JR Pass and go almost wherever (not sure if this is cheaper than buying a direct flight to elsewhere - have a look around)
Always good to compare the differences in cities after you've been to Tokyo.
Actually, Osaka is considered to be a bit cheaper than tokyo, and less crowded. More bargains to be had too, and better food.
Among local Japanese Tokyo is known as the more refined (richer) and Osaka the louder (more casual) cities.
culture =/= japan? k
It’s all about fashion
If you go to googleflights and
Put in Melbourne-japan it will generate the individual airports and there prices on the days you want to travel.https://www.google.com/flights#flt=MEL.r/m/03_3d.2018-05-09*…
Tokyo will be more pricey because of airport transfer which ain't cheap. All cities are pretty similar prices and variety.
Do some research
