  • So hard to find any in stock - been to 5 stores (Perth), and all out of stock!

    • Just wondering what Perth stores did you visit? I visited a few stores SOR and they didn't have any too.. :(

      • Southlands Willetton, Riverton, Canning Vale, Booragoon and Melville - all out of stock. You probably went to the same store too (as you mentioned SOR)?

        • +1

Ahahaha I went to the Woolworths in Bull Creek, Cockburn Central and Atwell.. Couldn't find any so I gave up..

        • @CSYL:

          Same. Very frustrating!

        • @F3ND3R: So I decided to go to some stores after work today.. Woolworths in Subiaco, Harrisdale, Kwinana, Wellard and Rockingham didn't have any either. Only store I found that had heaps was Warnbro Fair but they only limit two cards per customer. :(

        • @CSYL:

Wow that is a lot of km's covered :) And only 2 allowed? Should have pushed for 5 as the T&C says the limit is 5?

  • Carnegie, VIC had quite a few this morning.

  • freeo- what are you planning to do with 60 cards? I am wondering how I am going to spend my 15.

    • Business related bills that seem never-ending! Many of our suppliers are local and happy with eftpos payment.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Only bought 5 so far, but will be back for more!
Initially I put through 4 cards, got the points for all of them, and then got $40 off the 5th due to the points!

Also used Woolies staff discount to save even further, it comes to:

    • $106.95 down to $101.60 after staff discount

    • Pay this $101.60 using 5% off WISH eGift card, so paying effectively $96.52

    • Getting $10 off a future transaction (which will occur any way)

    • Net cost of each card: $86.52

    • That is a "profit" of $13.48, each card.

    • Multiply by how many ever cards bought.

    Gerry Harvey, watch out!

    • +2

There are additional 252 WWS points earned per card.

As a result, you got another extra $10 WWS Dollars for every 8 cards bought.

      • Any idea why these extra 252 points are being given? Nothing in my team account saying so!

        • Someone pointed it out above already. Why not check your receipt?140 extra points for a normal Rewards card.

        • @Neoika: That's correct - my initial purchase of 4 EFTPOS Gift Cards netted exactly 9008 points (that is, 2252 per card), and then the final purchase of 1 EFTPOS Gift Card netted exactly 2252 points.

My question was though, why the extra 112 points over and above a "normal" Rewards Card, is this a Team Member perk that I was not made aware of or is it just a system glitch? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining though, extra free points is awesome!

        • +1

@Neoika: It is because the IT team set up x20points for this product code instead of 2000pts. Maybe it is easier for them to do it that way.

The next thing you know will be a call from store manager to his office if you keep using your staff cards to buy.

      • Really? That's weird, nothing illegal happening here haha :)

        • I suggest you read T&C of your staff discount card. Head office does monitor it and this is clearly abuse your staff discount card. Don't said that I didn't warn you. Even buying 5k would be enough for your card to be flagged.

        • @samehada: Thanks for that, I've only bought 5 so far, might only buy 5 more and then call it quits :)
Can't wait for the next promo though

        • +1

          @MathNerd:
It's quite possible that this may be the last promo like this before they limit to one per customer…

        • @forrester: Damn it…

        • @forrester: It's not like they haven't done this before and that it hasn't been abused, and it's for this reason that I'm surprised that this has come up again without a limit of one per customer..

Found a heap of cards with $5.95 load fee - bargain!

Edit: just read above. Now I am pissed.

    • I bought 5 with 5.95 too, couldn't find one with with 6.95 the manager assured me I would still get the points. I don't. Don't bother going back and argue with him as each card costs me $0.65 in fees (using 5% egiftcards). So I used the cards to buy another eftpos with 6.95 fees at another store, then repeat

      • +1

So you use eftpos gift card buying eftpos gift card?

        • Used up my $50 eftpos cards from previous offer, combined them into $100 cards

        • @ausvicee:

Do ypu paid $100 or $106.95 when you use the $5.95 card?

        • @LoveBargain15: 106.95. I buy in lots of 4 then select split payment using multiple eftpos cards

      • OK will do. Very deceitful. They look identical!

      • +2

Rang WR and they said it was the stores fault and to see them. So I went back to the store and placed a $5.95 and $6.95 card (from the same hook) on their counter with the catalogue open and asked which one gets the points. They looked at me weird like "they are the same card". I then showed my receipt and pointed out that I did not get the 2000 points (x5) and the $5.95 was not eligible DESPITE looking identical and being on the same hook.

After 3 staff that were useless, I eventually got the store manager and he agreed with me - he offered me a $100 card free. I declined and said I am happy with a $50 store gift card. He was happy, I was happy. Didn't want to take advantage - just wanted what I was entitled to.

So was OK in the end but sill think it's a massive scam and fails the consumer law "layman" test.

  • These cards have expire date?
How do you use these cards if the amount if bigger than $100?
The shop I went they only accept one transaction… means only one card $100 can be used…..

    • Choose card(split payment) as payment option

      • It's a small shop with a small eftpos terminal. Can't find split payment option:(
        Only supermarket support split payment?

        • I normally see Card or Card (split payment) or Other Payment Method at checkout. If I use wish egift cards then I select Other Payment Method, where I have the option of eGift Card or eGift Card (split payment).

        • @ausvicee:
Where do you use them ? What store

        • @Wai: Richmond VIC

  • Just got told off by the attendant that I am not supposed to pay for gift cards using the Wish gift card. The lady even brought out the highlighted memo from HQ. Good thing was my payment has gone thru so there’s nothing much they can do other than giving me an earful and the stone cold stare.

    • Haha - love that glare!

    • +1

there's a few of those grumpy old ladies at woolies who take their job way too seriously! can't imagine what they do to the poor asians buying formulas!

      • Not a few but a lot, and they do get a earful from me for their attitude a few times.

        • +1

Wow, that takes balls. I've never questioned anything they said, I don't like drawing attention to myself in public.
How have you handled it? Do you refer to T&Cs and say that there's nothing dodgy about what we're doing?

        • +1

@MathNerd: I won't usually do that unless that person is a bully. Some of them are really a bully and try to show their power over me which in fact they have none.

        • @samehada: Wow, I hate overzealous supermarket employees who have nothing better to do than to pick on customers.
After all, they're still getting paid the same, their pay isn't getting cut when customers get discounts.

        • +2

@MathNerd: I've lived long enough to know that certain kind of people thrive on showing others that they have power and usually they suffer from serious inferiority disorder themselves. I don't bother to waste my time with them. Just file a feedback to the corporate office or on FB.

      • I never really cared when I worked there but there were some night fill who would talk a bit. To me thats kind of stupid. If people are buying these products in droves, it is only helping our economy and local jobs, absolutely nothing wrong with that.

If you're also buying the same formula and having trouble, be creative, theres always tons on ebay. Dont be stingy and pay a bit more. Dont like that, get used to it, its capitalism at work!

Anyone got a problem buying egift cards please? Put an order in yesterday morning at 10am, not yet receive the order.

    • +1

Bought 12am today and hasn't received too

    • +1

The last time I bought egift cards on Saturday I only get it on Monday

    • +1

I ordered on Sat around 7pm received around 11pm

      • Lucky you
        I still have not mine.

    • I bought some Friday night and still have not received mine.

    • Maybe it got flagged for a security check?

    • I brought at large amount at 12am this morning, and am yet to receive them (18 hours later :( )

If I'd know I would have completed my order on saturday. I have however already brought alot of gift cards over the last week, so maybe I've been flagged too lol.

  • Seems like they are cracking down on it… tried buying one through self serve few days ago and still failed after needing two staff logins/checks. Staff were friendly though, and said it happens sometimes with gift card purchase and I should go through a staffed checkout next time.

  • Still quite few available at hurstville, maybe around 8 cards
    None at kogarah

this is basically a money printing machine.

bought 32 at one store using wish cards (and the accrued points). first store I went to said I couldn't do it. went to a dodgy area where they are more worried about getting robbed/etc, rather than people gaming the cards so DGAF

then took those 32 to another store and used them to get another 36. pretty much saved $700 on school fees
if they aren't on shelves make sure to ask, they may have em in smokes section as I saw 1 bloke leaving the shop just before me with a box of what looked like 100 cards.

if only could find a way to use eftpos cards to pay my real credit card (have contemplated buying PS4s at BigW or something, and returning them for refund into a diff card?)

    • 106.95 * .95 = $101.6
      101.6 - $10 (woolies dollars) = 91.6 for profit of $8.4 per card
      32 * 8.4 = $268 profit

      Using the 32 cards to buy 36 is impossible because 32 = $3200 / $106.95 = 29 cards.
And the most you'd make per card is 106.95 - $10 =96.95, profit of $3.05

      3.05 * 29 cards = $88.40

$268 + 88.40 is far from your calculations

    • Someones telling a porky here!!! I bought 75 cards and the profit was just over $800- and thats including my staff discount, how could you have made $700 profit on just 36 cards with no staff discount?

      • -1

        i got staff discount.

and thanks for downvotes and assistance with calculations. $700 was my guesstimation, funding was combined with normal credit card, so exact number may vary somewhat

  • hi, do you think they can manually adjust if I accidentally bought the same looking the perfect gift card but with processing fee of $5.95 and not $6.95? appears the 2000 points arent showing.

    • I would contact Woolworths Rewards and ask them what your options are to recoup the missing points.

      • They gave me an option to return the cards but it's all up to the store manager whether they would accept and give refund. It's faster and easier to go get more gift cards and make 8.40 each card to cover up losses

        • Problem is cant find stock anywhere now

      • WR do nothing - they palm you off back to the store.

    • see my comment above - see the store manager and get the value of points on a store gift card.

  • A lot of stores have the 5 limit banners. They have plenty of stock.

One didnt have any but the manager is a great aussie and refuses to sell more than 3, had to argue to allow 5.

  • got 5 cards paid for each in separate transactions with different edr cards scanned but only realised the service desk chick did something wrong as only 1 edr card appeared on the first receipt. store manager couldn't do anything late Sunday arvo. so If I call up and explain will they credit my edr account with the 4 missing lots of points or is it better to give them the other family member cards too? can I just email them the receipts attached if so where do I email it to?

  • Seems like the game is over….

Tried two stores this morning and won’t accept wish gift cards!!

    • -1

Did you do it at checkout counter? Worked fine for me last night.

      • +1

Can confirm that purchasing these EFTpos "Perfect" giftcard types of cards cannot be done using WW egift cards anymore (1 May 2018)
Same store last night accepted the purchase using egift cards - today says EFT declined or something similar whilst attempting to pay.
Store has the old style POS as well (where staff intervention is not required to confirm gift card transaction)
I'm hoping its only for these EFTpos cards and not ALL gift cards… but didnt try any others

        • I went to another store and worked…. just glad to shift the wish gift cards… didn't want to end up with stacks.

        • Damn, they're cracking down on professional OzBargainers!

  • -5

Anyone know if you can pay credit card statements with these?

    • -3

Yes, but with fees (the CC statement will have the fees listed).
