I've been meaning to buy a Hisense N7 75" for ages now, but still haven't gotten around to it for various reasons. I went on to pricehipster to check current prices on the set and it seems that it's around $2495 at most places. There's no mention of a "sale" price or anything on any of the websites. Is this the new rrp for this tv? Should we expect it to drop further due to a sale in the near future?
Is $2495 The New RRP for Hisense N7 75"?

Nice. Such a forum classic.
There's a basic rule in technology and it's that prices tend to go down and new stuff tends to get released. There's never a "best time" to buy, you either buy at the beginning of the cycle and you pay more to get the new tech, or you buy at the end of the cycle where you pay less but you'll have an old model in less than a year's time.
It's fool's gold to try and predict prices and what will happen. If you believe the TV will bring you $2495 worth of happiness then go buy it and enjoy it, it's a good price for what it is. As the above comment says, who knows.
My question was more "Is $2495 the new rrp for the Hisense?". I guess if so, we don't need a crystal ball. It's likely the price will be lower when there is a sale in the near future.
$2450 in Sydney

How would anyone but Hisense know? It might be a short term promotion, they might cut the price tomorrow, they might increase it.
Most of the time when there's a promotion or sale they state it on the websites….

No it isn't it's quite predictable. As you just said in the previous paragraph you wrote.
What did Hisense say when you asked them??
$2500 on Static Ice but as soon as someone sells it for $2400, that becomes it's price. I'm surprised the N5 isn't a lot cheaper than $2000 when it doesn't have HDR and two less Ns…
Is Hisense a brand everyone trusts now? Ie, they are above Soniq but by how much?
I think 2.5k is too much to spend on a "cutting edge" tv, IE 75", I don't think I've ever seen a TV that big in the wild at JB. I'd want to spend $2500 on a smaller OLED. It's good to see LG isn't the only player in that market now, Panasonic making OLED lately.
It is important to understand that Hisense also sells TV's under the Sharp and Toshiba brand. The most important question then is who manufactured the panel.
For OLED TV's, LG make the panels used in LG and Sony TV's. Each manufacturer then wraps its own electronics and software around it. There is some difference in end product based on the picture processing hardware mostly around upscaling and colour management.
When I compare basically the same TV from those two companies I end up comparing software which is sluggish Android for Sony and WebOS (based on PalmOS!) for LG.
Samsung make their own panels but those are not as good as LG panels (they wish it wasn't so) or those used in Hisense TV's. Kogan TV's used to use Samsung panels (not sure if that is still the case).
Hisense are one of the biggest sellers of TV's in the world and the only one offering three year warranties.
Now is good time to buy if you're happy with the 2017 models as they are being cleared out for 2018 models. Note that curved screens are going the way of the Dodo (as they should). Otherwise you need to wait a few months for sales on the new models.
Wait for a %20 off ebay.
new TV models are shown at CES in January, old models sell out March / April and new ones arrive shortly after. So if it's an old model, probably a good time to buy. If it's a new model, you'll get a better discount as there is more stock and as the model gets older…..
who knows
get your crystal ball out.
